Former Kentucky and Louisville coach Rick Pitino had some interesting thoughts about John Calipari and rumors of Cal possibly leaving for the NBA.
In an interview with the New York Post, Pitino said he didn’t see Calipari leaving the “best job in basketball.”
“I think when you coach at Kentucky, you have the premier job in college basketball — in terms of he can recruit any player he wants, he has unbelievable facilities, he’s gonna win his 30 games every year, and he’s got the best job in all of basketball,” Pitino said. “So I’m not sure why he would ever want to have a job that’s not the best job in all of basketball. He’s smarter than me when it comes to that.”

With what he had built at Kentucky, there's no doubt in my mind that we would have reached and passed UCLA for the most championships if he had stayed. I believe that in a head to head matchup the 1996 team would beat the 2012 team. He had us rolling. [ 03-23-2020, 02:27 PM: Message edited by: rlt4uk ]
