Guess what he's going to see?? He's got 4 or 5 guys who can make a few 3's. Then he's gonna see them play some pretty good defense in the first half, but he'll see they let up in the second half and were being outsmarted on defense. Good bit of work there, but that's nothing new. His teams are always working on their defense last. I think they'll get there eventually but it could mean a loss or two along the way.
They won't all get even minutes at the beginning at Duke. They are not all equal and may never get that way. His starting lineup is probably the best five he has at this point, minus the 2 that didn't play. Tshiebwe better be good or we could be hurting underneath. Ware is hustling but he could never replace Tshiebwe if he got into foul trouble. Ware is still too slow reacting. Collins doesn't have the weight but he could be a better replacement for Tshiebwe because of his jumping ability. Right now Collins should be the first big off the bench.
Brooks is moving better this year and is definitely shooting a lot better. Hopkins is just stating to learn how to play and his shooting is atrocious. Too many air balls. I hope Toppin comes back and plays respectable because we will need him.
The guard play was pretty good all around. Wheeler is the driving force if we're going to move the ball fast to the rim. His lay ups will be needed by this team. Washington is the real deal when it comes to shooting. When Allen is hitting along with Washington we'll score a lot of points, from anywhere on the floor. I believe Allen will still be sucking hind teat on the rotation for some reason.
Grady and Mintz will get their minutes off the bench and they can both score the ball and play defense. Frederick is still to come. He is able to shoot the 3 so it will be interesting to see him on the floor when he gets back.
Overall I would give them a B- for tonight's game because of their defense in the second half. We definitely don't have a platoon team at this point and they are not going to all see equal time against Duke, unless they show me something better in their next game on Friday.
Right now I'd say we are just about right at #10 in the polls.

We'll do alright but beat Duke? It will be a struggle unless K is having a little problem getting his guys to perform like it was late season game.
