Once again a team shoots 50% from the field against us, 43% from 3. This team cares absolutely nothing about defense. It was a win, but giving up 85 points to LSU is horrible. We can't guard anybody. Or is it that we just don't care about guarding anyone. Cal preaches defense, but he sure lets guys stay out there even if they suck at it, or don't even try. Sit them down and send the message that defense and effort truly are important to you. If it doesn't change we are not going to do anything. I just can't really even enjoy watching this team because they don't seem to really have any heart in it. I sure hope we get it together for the Alabama game. Taking my son to it, and I want him to see a team that plays with heart, passion, and 100% effort. Just don't see that right now.

It's easy to score on them, that stupid switch defense, and everyone looks around like they just discovered the wheel. Hustle is not their M.O. Run and gun, and look at yourself on the jumbotron as you jog back on defense, Bam loves to look at himself on the jumbotron and admire his dunk...Which by the way is all he can do...As his man runs by him for another uncontested layup

Yeah, Cal talks about guys taking the easy way out and switching and how he doesn't want that, but then he just lets them do it over and over again. I just don't get it. Bam is the worst at it. There were a couple times where the guard would be trying to get to his man and Bam would stay on the guard and force our guard to go with the post. And there was no need for a switch.

Actually I think that's what this defense is called...The blow by defense. Or the Layup line defense...Sorry guys but sometimes you have to call it like it is. I love my blue, but it's all about the name on the back of the jersey...Not the front.

The announcer even pointed out on the replay where Bam just backed up and let the guard go straight to the rim for a layup. If that was Willis, Mulder or Humphries that would've been the last they saw of the court. They would've sat the rest of the game.

Defense, much like rebounding, is a matter of will. You have to want to.

Also it's called the Linda Ronstadt defense, "Blew By You".

That's five in a row. This team has a very poor basketball IQ. They get lazy when they think they have put the game away. They played pretty good overall defense early but then just didn't really try after that. Even though some of them may not be ready to go I hope all of them that think they are that great do leave. We need to make room for some new faces who may just want to be great. We have 7 games left and we could lose 2 or 3 of them. The SEC championship could be hard to win and the SEC tourney could be very disappointing. And as they are now it could be hard for us to make it to the second weekend. Dreams were great for this team but when the going gets tough...... well I think they don't realize it's tough until they lose.

The Bama game will be tough, they beat SC on the road. I saw something weird in that game, it called boxing out

This was a breather game and the next one will be much tougher. They did not play a complete game. Should have been a blow out in Rupp. It will be very interesting to see if they show up and be contenders instead of pretenders. Go Cats!

They were a 25 point betting favorite in Vegas. LSU are the second worst team in the SEC and last nights game should not have even been close. I don't know what has happened to this team lately but there is little to no effort on the defensive end of the floor. They actually had a 25 point lead in the second half only to quit playing and let LSU back in the game. Our defense made another average player look like an All American, Blakely went off for 31 points against Monk and Briscoe, the two primary defenders. Briscoe's play is really starting to hurt this team, he has become a turnover machine lately.

Do you guys think that Cal tells Monk to, for lack of a better word, lighten up his defensive pressure since he is such an important piece of our offense?

I can't remember this much talent on a Calipari team that is playing this bad on defense, this late in the season.

If they can't improve their play, more losses are coming, which will make it a very difficult path for them in the tourney.

Basically we have Gabriel, Hawkins and Mulder, when he gets in there. The rest are taking time off whenever it fancies them. These guys should be ashamed of themselves for playing so far under their ratings and capabilities. I see only Monk and Fox getting drafted, but even they will be drafted on their future capabil;ities. For all his size Bam is a wasted scholorship. Give Wynyard some experience and he could out perform what he is doing now.

I would hope that's not the case. But it does look like he purposely doesn't play any defense.
