does anyone know why he never see the court---i would think he would be next or ahead of hood. iust wondering if anyone knows something about it. i was thinking he was a four or five star player in highs
school----and coach must have seen something he liked or he would never have recruited him

He is not as talented as Hood or even Polson apparently. If he had the skills, there is no doubt coach would be playing him with the thin bench he has. He and Vargas are both lacking in Division one basketball skills.

It is a shame because you can tell the kid really wants to play. I wouldn't be surprised if at years end he opts to transfer.

I don't believe he has picked up the offensive plan yet. He appears to be lost out there. He was the first one recruited in this class and most likely a mistake. I believe he is a mid major player and not really going to be an influence at UK. Also feel he may transfer down a notch or two. Vargas will be a senior and probably will hang around another year.

Coming out of high school, Poole was known as an athletic slasher who had the ability to get to the rim and finish. He used his above average athleticism to finish in the open floor, or to score over guys who were less athletic. At this level, most guys his height are at least as athletic, so that removes his only real advantage. He was never known as a great shooter or a good ball handler. For a guard to play effectively in Cal's system you have to either be an outstanding ball-handler, great shooter, or freakishly athletic finisher.

At this point, Poole is none of the above, but he has the potential to be. I hope he stays all 4 years, as he could be a steady contributor by his Junior year and a significant piece of the offense by his Senior year.
