Freshman Skal Labissiere showed how much variety he has in his offensive arsenal during Friday night's win over Kentucky State.

"He can do it. He can make free throws. What we have got to start working on with him is being double teamed," Kentucky coach John Calipari said. "We haven't done any of that yet.

"I just told the guys, we have a big weekend, tomorrow and Sunday, we got two a day, both days. They're off Monday. And then Tuesday, Wednesday are big days for us because Thursday we got to back up because they play Friday, Saturday. But we haven't worked on what we're doing and if they trap us.

"We have done a lot of zone work right now, but we still got to get down to -- the next three teams are going to play 2-3. They will play a 1-2-2. They will play a 1-3-1. If teams stretch out against us, I'm going to feel good because of our guard play. We'll get in gaps and we'll be pretty good if you stretch a zone out. But a packed-in zone is the one that we're going to have to figure out what we're doing."

I think Skal will get better as the season goes on and by tournament time he is going to be a big force for the Cats.

If last game is any indication of his normal skill set, look out! I've never seen a big man score like he did Friday. Those moves he made when he scored like seven straight baskets - he might be the most skilled center I've ever seen at UK.

He's a capable scorer from several spots on the floor!

We have seen his 15 foot shot and it is smooth and with more practice no telling how good his shooting can get.

I think most have his scoring might come from put backs. He will learn to get position and when he does he is going to get that much better. It may not happen over night but he will improve on getting better rebounding position.

We also have Poy and Lee that can rebound and have the ability to score on put backs too.

I beg to differ, I think the majority of his scoring will come from the hook shot!

He's just going to have to get stronger!

With the strength program the basketball players do there is no doubt he will get stronger. You can take it to the bank.
