Kentucky coach John Calipari says Arkansas is figuring things out and has plenty of talent to challenge his team Thursday night.
“They still defend, they still play hard, but you have a couple breakdown players who can go get them (buckets) when they need them. And all of a sudden, you’re talking about a team that’s playing confident. From where they were early to where they are now, you might as well not even watch early tapes,” said Calipari earlier this week on the SEC coaches network.
He says senior Anthlon Bell is a difference-maker for the Razorbacks.
“A guy that’s been through the stuff, because I think again, Arkansas is going through what we’re going through. They got a lot of young guys and it’s just hard. I mean, winning time for us: We’re up 20 against Mississippi State, we’re up 12 against Auburn; we lose one and we should’ve lost the other. Think about that. Historically, my teams, if you get up 10 it’s death for the other team. That’s not the case right now,” the UK coach said.

Amen to that. We Cat fans are not used to seeing our team lose a 12 point lead in the second half and then lose the game to a far inferior team.

Let's face it all teams are different and need coachs that can bring out their talents an minimize their shortcomings. It takes time to get every player on the same page. We had a couple of hic-ups but have enough time and talent to have a good season from this point on and if we play up to our abilities should beat a Arkansas team even if it's in Bud Walton arena.

Arkansas has lost 8 games and they depend a lot on their 3 point shooting by Bell and Hannahs who average 13 3 pointers a game and make over 45% of them. If we can stop those 2 players from making a high percent we have a much better chance of beating Arkansas.

Yikes it shows how far we have fallen down from past seasons. On the good side next year we will be loaded with talented players.

Las Vegas Insider has the Cats favored by three to three and a half points. I have not seen any site having Arkansas as the favorite. The opening line was cats giving Arkansas two points but it has now gone up to three and a half. [ 01-21-2016, 02:16 PM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

Ray, I think we are ready for a good game and Cal will have them ready to play tonight.
