Kentucky sophomore guard Isaiah Briscoe was tabbed to the Lute Olson Award Preseason Watch List on Monday. The award is given annually to the top Division I player with at least two years of collegiate experience.

The recipient of the 2017 Lute Olson Award will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com awards banquet on April 31 in Phoenix, site of the 2017 Final Four.

Briscoe is the team’s unquestioned leader heading into his sophomore season after a stellar freshman campaign. The 6-foot-3 guard is the team’s leading returning scorer at 9.6 points per game and rebounder at 5.3 boards per outing. Briscoe was UK’s best on-ball defender a season ago, while also ranking third on the team in scoring, including posting double-digit tallies in 18 contests.

You can bet Briscoe will play hard at both ends of the court. He is a leader and will show it in his stats...
