To continue the trend of optimism surrounding Jackson’s game, star freshman Brandon Boston Jr. doubled down on the hype Friday afternoon, calling the talented forward a flat-out “pro.”

“That guy is a pro, he’s a professional,” Boston said. “He blocks every shot. He has a seven-foot – I don’t even know how long – wingspan and blocks every shot. He always rebounds, he just does what he has to do at the five position. He can shoot the midrange, can shoot the three if needed. He’s just a good all-around player.”

When Cal gets excited about a recruit you know he has talent.

Well, thinking about it, the last few years I guess I am most aroused from Wildcats Basketball as I am from most anything else... [Roll Eyes]

This oldtimer is not surprised one bit at the way Jackson is receiving all this praise. After watching clips of his high school games I made a statement that it was amazing what a motor this kid has. He never seems to stop and is always in motion. If we hadn't gotten Sarr I thought he would be a starter. He may well be a starter even with Sarr if Brooks doesn't get over his injury, or even if Brooks is ready. Another situation is the Askew/Mintz battle for the starting PG. Whoever proves better will get the start. It sure seems like we have the makings of two good teams unless a couple guys falter
