KY comes into the game as a 13.5 point favorite.
Cats better not overlook this one though. Oakland like to throw up the three's. Jack Gohlke for the Grizzles shotts nothing bt 3pt shots.
He's taken 335 fg attempts this season and 327 of the were three attempts! He avg just under 4 made/game!
Trey Townsend is the Grizzlies leading scorer at 16.9/game while Reeves continues to lead the Cats at 20/game!

Tonight's officials are, Brian Dorsey, Steven Anderson, and DG Nelson.
Dorsey worked KY's games against Wilmington and at Starkville.
Anderson worked KY's games against Georgia and at Vandy!
Nelson did not work a KY game this year!

All I can say is UK is playing right into Oakland’s game plan. They wanted to limit Dillingham and Sheppard and force the ball to UK’s bigs and 12 minutes in they have not attempted a shot.

Just sloppy play. Season is going to end playing like this. 7 unforced turnovers. UK will not get to the foul line the second half. Oakland fouls less than any team in the country so that was an anomaly in my opinion.
UK lucky to be only down three. We will see what Cal adjust at the half.
I would put Reed in the middle against the match up zone and half Reeves and Dilly on the wings with Bradshaw down low for the lob.
On defense just follow Goldke. The dude has only attempted 9 twos all year I believe so you know he is only shooting 3’s.

This is not good. That guy can't keep shooting like that, but we better not keep making stupid turnovers and missing easy shots. Make the easy shots and we should be up by 8 or so.

I don't anticipate Cal making any adjustments at all. That's not who he is as a coach. Just stick with the same things he always does, whether it's working or not. I don't understand why he started Trey. When they said he made an adjustment to his starting lineup I thought maybe it was Reed or Rob starting. But nope. He decides to start Trey over Thiero. Personally I like Thiero starting over Trey.

Doesn't look like any adjustments. I know I would start to go over the top on some of the screens instead of chasing behind Gholke every time. I know that might leave him open to flair, but it at least gives him different looks. Switch it up some. Also, I would have whoever is defending him not even look at the ball. Just follow him everywhere.

You literally had one scorer on the floor with Reeves when you have him out there with Wagner, Edwards, Mitchell and Bradshaw against a match up zone.
Unbelievable. UK has become irrelevant in College Basketball.

I would also switch defenders on Gholke. We don't Reeves to get too tired chasing that guy all around. Put Reed on him for a little bit, Edwards, DJ. Keep fresh guys on him. We need Reeves to be fresh on the offensive end.

FIRE JOHN CALIPARI in the next 24 hours!!!! He is a joke of a coach and there are no excuses for him in this game. He had the talent and some experience. John Calipari is finished. There was a close-up of him in this 2nd half and he had that lost look on his face that he has all the time. He literally doesn't know what to do in these games. He just tries different line ups with no rhyme or reason. What a joke of a coach and I don't understand how anybody that is a UK fan can still defend this guy. What an absolute waste of talent over the years by this coach.

Dilliingham leaving Cole in the corner was huge. You never leave a corner shooter. You would think that Virginia winning the tournament a few years back would have shown all players that.

Don't look now but a lot of people wasted a lot of time and $$$$$$$$$ going to Nashville and Pittsburgh. I've done that before so I know how they feel. I think most of us knew this was coming a couple months ago. Two and out! But we almost shaved the lead.........ooops! I didn't mean to use that word "shave" Sure looked like we were trying to loose by a very small margin the whole game. But we know in these days and times that that couldn't happen. Even the refs, or at least one of them was trying to throw the game also. The guy got fouled when he made the layup and they evidently called two shots, but they put the two points on the board. And then after he missed one they stopped the game and gave him a second try. ??????
What now? We have some freshmen who have been missing a lot of games this year when we have lost. Three of them are projected to be 1st round selections? I think this one and done has hit a brick wall this year. I don't see any of our freshmen going above the 15th spot. They are not ready and I think the NBA will let them know it come selection day. If they don't they'll learn.
Our three bigs look to be good for coming back next year. None of them are as good as most of the other bigs in college.
The hype on Wagner looks to be misplaced a little. He appears this year to just be a fancy ball handler with not much of a shot.
Overall, I'm sort of glad this miserable season is now over. We weren't destined to go very far this year. But before I close my comments out for this team I think I have a name for them.
They should be known as the "Never Were Cats"

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a box and 1. Whoever was guarding Gholke didn't help off him, and didn't look at the ball. The others looked to still be in man as they followed guys from low to high, etc. I know Cal said box and 1, but I'm not sure he really understands what that is.
