UK just getting bullied except for Butler. UGA getting away with everything on the defensive end. Lots of arm bars and body checks as no call. Just have to try and play through it.
Other end UGA is 10-10 at the line. UK yet to shoot a Free Throw. Normal UK game when Olandis Poole is involved.
Just some ridiculous calls tonight.

The refs are not good. UGA is getting every call and shooting their 12th freethrow to our one. We have to stop getting off to slow starts. These kind of starts are going to cost us games. We do not look good at all, and our defense is terrible.
Posted by ukman (Member # 3032) on 01-07-2025, 07:52 PM:
Finally we get a freaking call. We're finally in the bonus with 53 seconds left. UGA plays physical and have only committed 7 fouls????
Posted by ukman (Member # 3032) on 01-07-2025, 07:57 PM:
47 points in a half to Georgia. Just bad defense and poor execution on offense. We better come out on fire in the 2nd half and win the first 4 minutes. We were not ready to play this game on the road.
Announcers just said UGA not fouling???? That's a joke.

UK’s just an awful defensive team. UGA scored 51 points on Saturday and have 47 at half. Granted the refs have been awful but UK sleeping through this game.

I had company and felt it best to not be on my computer. My youngest grandson was here!

This is by far and away one of the roughest ball games I've ever seen played! Pushing and shoving all over the floor, from both teams!

Looks like Blue got in!
Posted by Trey Ball (Member # 332) on 01-07-2025, 08:41 PM:
Two fouls called on UGA so far the second half. Refs call UK for the foul on the three…..saying UK did not allow shooter to land.. UGA shooter stepped on UK players feet INSIDE the 3 point line. Unreal.

KY's getting beaten on the FT line 23-7 iin a 9 point game! HMMMMMM?
Posted by Trey Ball (Member # 332) on 01-07-2025, 08:48 PM:
This one is over in my opinion with UGA in the bonus the rest of the way.

Newell had hit 7 three's all season, he's hit 2 tonight!
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 08:53 PM:
KY trails by 12 at the under 8 minute timeout and KY's going to lose their 3rd game of the season tonight! We're 4-19 from three point land. We almost have to hit 9-10 three's in a game to have a chance to win ball games! Not even close this evening
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 08:54 PM:
Getting beaten 25-9 on the FT line won't help matters either!
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 08:55 PM:
More of those 4-5-6 minute stretches without a FG!
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 08:56 PM:
Robinson for three
Posted by ukman (Member # 3032) on 01-07-2025, 08:58 PM:
Robinson has been an absolute no show. He's not even playing good defense, and he only has 2 rebounds. He has to step up his n play. I really have expected more from him this season. He's been very mid in my opinion. Just a bad game tonight. Our post defense is a problem and SEC teams will start taking advantage of that. Pope's gonna have to figure something out.
Posted by ukman (Member # 3032) on 01-07-2025, 08:59 PM:
Of course he hits a 3 as I'm typing. Maybe I motivated him

Newell with the takedown
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 09:01 PM:
Carr just gets shoved down on the floor and now the refs have to look at the TV again! No FOUL called! I think they brought their football team to the game tonight!
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 09:02 PM:
They only call fouls on our defensive end of the floor!
Posted by Trey Ball (Member # 332) on 01-07-2025, 09:03 PM:
Physical game. Usually free throw attempts would be close…29-8
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 09:04 PM:
GA has 13 more points at the FT line than us and the margin keeps growing! 5 minutes to play!
Posted by Trey Ball (Member # 332) on 01-07-2025, 09:07 PM:
Another review….Garrison going to get a flagrant on that one. .

UT getting manhandles by Florida this evening. They trail by 29 points with 37 seconds to play!
Update: UT loses 71-43

This was one of the 7 wins I had UK getting so now I see them finishing 6-12 in the SEC unless they can steal one somewhere else.

Brea for three

Think we'll lose that many home games, huh?
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 09:13 PM:
Down 13 with just over 2 1/2 minutes left to play
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 09:17 PM:
Looks as though the margin is going to be by how many more FT's GA shoots than KY!
Posted by ukman (Member # 3032) on 01-07-2025, 09:19 PM:
Terrible showing tonight. These slow starts are hurting us. We can't keep getting off to bad starts and expect to beat good teams in the SEC, especially on the road. And I'll say it again, we have to get more from Robinson. If he wants to get drafted he has to start showing he can impact winning in other ways. He should be a better overall defender, rebound better, and he has to show more consistent scoring.

That last play proves how bad the refs are!
Cain has the ball hit his knee, hit his arms, hit his chest and they give them the ball! WOW!!!
Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 01-07-2025, 09:25 PM:
Still a 13 point margin with under a minute to play!
Posted by ukman (Member # 3032) on 01-07-2025, 09:26 PM:
Doesn't get any easier. Play at #14 MSU Saturday. We better get off to a good start if we expect to get a win, and the post players better toughen up and defend better inside. We have 4 tough games coming up. We could very easily lose all 4 and lose 5 in a row. There is no margin for error this season. You better bring your best game every night if you want to win. I'm still hoping we finish the season at 8-8 in the conference.

There is only one draftable player on the roster and he would be a late second rounder, but more than likely he would be a Free Agent signing and that would be Brea based upon his shooting.
The rest of these guys will be playing Overseas or going to work like the rest of us.

Before the season started I did not see them winning these home games: A&M/Bama/UT/Auburn at home.
A&M/UT/Auburn are all going to be physical games and this team is showing that they do not like that type of play. Bama doesn't play that style so I am hoping maybe they can win that home game to get this one back.

Agree, officiating was terrible but Pope has to learn to speed teams up that want to slow games down. The only way to do that is to start applying full court pressure. This will be the 3rd loss to just such a team.

I think Kentucky can beat any team in the conference. We are not that bad of a team. We're gonna take some lumps and we're gonna deliver some lumps. Either way, I LOVE our style of play and I really enjoy watching this team. We have a pretty bright future.

blue hoot, I heard someone make the argument that the press doesn't work as well today as it did back in the 90s, because the trend towards "interchangeable players" means so many players can handle the ball.
If the press works, it is great. If they break the press easily, then it is usually an easy bucket for the opponent.
Also, not every team is cut out to press. I am dubious that this team has the quickness and athleticism to be a great pressing team.

Tip, All good points. I just hope we start playing more physical and aggressive in SEC play.
