Maybe be the least physical big 7 footer that I have seen in a while. Just gets pushed around game after game and tries to rebound one handed. He can’t even block out on a free throw.
Has great vision and good ball handler and good at reading the defense. I would just like to see him be more physical. [ 01-11-2025, 11:17 PM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

My concern all season with this team, going back to performances against lower opponents at the very beginning, is rebounding and post defense. The secret to beating us is to run us off the 3 pt line and pound the ball inside against us. I would like to see us mix in some zones at times. We are only going to win games when we are shooting the ball well. I don't know if we will win games when they are ugly and you have to rely on defense and rebounding. That's why I see us losing around 8 games in SEC play.

One thing for certain....UK is not going to win games by being a great defensive team. This many games into the season...they are who they are.

And that's what they did tonight. There passing has turned into a near disaster. They made a bunch of miscues on passing tonight.

I feel like our guards are pretty good on-the-ball defenders, and it seems to me like our big men are being coached to not foul. Play with arms straight up and don't commit stupid fouls. If they get scored on, they get scored on. I like the way our bigs defend.
I think it was Trey Ball who pointed out in another post that Amari has not fouled out of a game all season (although he fouled out of the very next game - thanks Trey. ) Sure, we don't have the greatest big men in the game. But I would rather they give up some baskets, not foul and stay in the game.
Now rebounding, on the other hand.... I wish our bigs could rebound a lot better than they do.

Yes....I did jinx him. I just laughed out loud when he fouled out of the Georgia game.

Now that is the physical Amari Williams I want to see the rest of the year.
Two handed, physical boards, and used his size and body against A&M!

Amari was a bit nastier last night. And he got whistled for some very terrible foul calls.

Yes he did. He got called for two fouls where he was actually the player getting fouled. Hard to believe the first one especially. I am not sure what that ref thought he saw, but it was not correct.
