By my calculations Pope is at 13 scholorships right now unless someone decides to leave. Anything more and he would be moving to fill it to 14 or 15 with the new limit of 15 which includes walk ons. Horn and Darby shire are still on the walk on statuus and not sure how they would be affected.

My impression was the days of the walk on were over....I hope not. We all need a cigar to brighten our day!

I read that in any sport that if you hold a roster spot that you get a full scholarship.

In the days of NIL, scholarships are irrelevant. What value is a $30,000 "full ride" compared to a $1M NIL payment?
Keep the roster limit, but ditch the scholarships. They ain't scholars anyway.

You know the roster can be 15 players again now which includes walkons. I would say the walkon st atus positions are dependent on when or if UK gets more transfers to reach the total of 15. or whether we reach the end of this years portal wars without reaching the total if 15. Who knows. It's a long way to september.

There should be no walk-ons anymore, per se. If guys are making 300,000+ a year, or whatever, they can pay their own tuition and the scholarship should go to the "walk-on."
