The misses and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary last Sunday. We decided to take a trip north. We spent last Friday at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It comes highly recommended! Not sure I'd go again anytime soon but if you are a music buff it comes highly recommended!
Saturday morn we woke up in Cleveland OH and made the 3 1/2 hour trip north east to Niagra Falls! If you have never feasted your eyes on the great Falls then I suggest you make the trip. It is a beautiful site. Yes, it is a lot of water rolling over some rocks but its a magnificent site!
It seemed like the wife and I walked 100 miles while we were there but we really enjoyed ourselves!

Hey, MH, is your anniversary on September 1? My wife and I had our 28th anniversary on that day.
Niagra really is something. Did you take a ride on the Maid of the Mist? It is pretty cool to get that close to the falls (even if you do get soaked in the process).
On the Canadian side, they dug tunnels behind the falls as part of a failed attempt at generating hydroelectric power. You can go down into those tunnels and really, viscerally feel the power of all that water thundering past. impressive!

Yes, our anniversary is on Sept 1st. The Maid of the Mist was one of our favorite parts of the entire trip. We didn't take our passports with us so we didn't end up going on the Canadian side. I'll have to remember the Canada tunnels if we ever go back!

I made that trip with my wife, daughter, and 16 year old grandson two years ago. Frankly I wasn't looking forward to the R&R hall of fame but I was pleasantly surprised how much of it I enjoyed.
It brought back lots of memories for this old codger, Elvis, the Dick Clark clips from the 60's and 70's, and surprisingly a big display of Johnny Cash stuff one of my all time favorites.
We did go to Niagra falls. I had seen it several times before but it's still awesome, but it's gotten too commercialized for me.
The highlight of the trip was going to Cooperstown, NY. to the baseball Hall of Fame. Being a huge baseball fan since the 50's I thought I had died and gone to heaven, nothing but baseball stuff for three city blocks. The hall itself was awesome and surprisingly lot of Pete Rose stuff. He is not inducted in the hall but he was well presented in the building.

Congrats to you and your wife.
Don't know the exact numbers on divorce, but it could be close to 50%. If so, that is very sad that marriage is so lightly regarded in our society.
