We are in Western Kentucky staying at the Lighthouse Landing. As we were getting out of the car my wife tripped and fell hurting her ankle. We went to the ER as a precautionary measure. I knew we were in trouble when the doctor came in the room with the x-rays and announced he had bad news and worse news. Long story short, she had 2 fractures in one bone in her ankle. She is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning to place a plate and other hardware associated hardware. Sounds like she may be off her feet for quite a while.
I don’t want you guys worrying about me. I will be ok. I was able to get my own coffee this morning. That’s a start. Not sure what I will do about eating. No breakfast and I fear starvation may be setting in. Pray for me.

Also praying for both of you. For your wife's recovery and your sense of smell to locate the closest McDonalds.

Time to 'go modern', Handy. Get your food delivered! UberEats, Grubhub, and others will bring you whatever your heart desires.
I pray that Mrs. Handy heals up and gets well. As she does, you can order up a nice meal on GrubHub and bring it to her in bed to earn some brownie points...

Sorry to hear. I hope surgery went well.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Surgery went well and they allowed us to drive home this afternoon. Can not put any weight on it for at least two weeks. You know what that means.
My wife is really quite the trooper. Me, not so much. I get thinner as I write this.
Kind words and prayer mean a lot to me.

Dang hc! Hate to hear that about mama. The fact you can already fix your own coffee so soon is astonishing. Don’t worry about starving, cooking ain’t that hard..... one loaf bread, bologna, mayo, mustard and you’re good for weeks, or if you want to go “gourmet”, double the mayo, add cheese and tomatoes. Goes real good with coffee.
Now if it’s brownies you want, as Tiptree suggested, give me a call.

As far away as I live from the nearest town, Uber eats would be cold by the time it gets to my house!
