I went to a barbershop "speakeasy" today. They're supposed to be shut down due to the covid-19 pandemic but they were open for business for regular customers.

For all appearances it looked closed, lights were out, shades were drawn, doors were locked, etc.

I had to give the secret knock: 2 short raps, followed by 3 long knocks, then 2 more short raps.

Then the door open a crack and a sinister man in a face mask asked for the pass code.

I whispered the pass code "clip joint" and was let in.

He cut my hair, I gave him a 100% tip, he swore me to secrecy, and let me out the back door into a dark secluded alley.

Actually except for the parts about the door knock and the pass code, which I embellished a little, this was pretty much the way it went down.

My oldest grandson's wife is multi talented. Not only is she a beautician, but is a corrections officer at the county jail. We asked her to come to our house and bring her haircutting paraphernalia. The day she came over, my wife's hairdresser called Millie and made an appointment to cut hers. She did however, cut mine. It was growing out over my ears.

There's bootleg haircutters up here. They'll come to your house and cut your hair. I've yet to take advantage because they charge $50 or more for a man's haircut! I've got some clippers at home, I'll keep myself presentable until something opens where someone who knows what they're doing can cut it.

My wife has cut my hair for the last 25 years...It doesn't take long to cut as there isn't as much on top any more. [Frown]

Mama cuts mine...can't remember the last time she didn't. Looks good, most of the time...don't matter...it's free.

My last hair cut was about early March around my birthday. I have a full beard and a bunch of hair about 2 inches long between my sideburns and my chin. To tell the truth it looks pretty bad but I made a promise that if I can't go in a restaurant and eat a meal I wasn't going to shave until I could. I think that day is getting here pretty soon. The dog is a month and a half late on getting groomed also and she is due to see the vet as soon as I get her trimmed and washed so she don't smell bad. I have really had it with the drive thru's, Wendy's, Lee's chicken, Taco Bell, the new Mexican place and Subway. This has caused me to probably never go thru another drive thru after this is over. By the way, my wife is so mad that I won't shave, but I look a lot worse than she does with not being able to get her hair cut either.
