Just got back from an 8 day vacation with the wife celebrating our 31st year of marriage.
We started out the trip stopping in Asheville, NC for a couple of days. We were going to tour the Biltmore Mansion but they now want $75/person to self guide yourself through it! Therefore we decided to forego the mansion and travel on down to Chimmney Rock State park instead. Did a lot of hiking, that neither of us were really used to, but had a fantastic time. Beauty all Around!
We continued our trip south until we stopped in Tybee Island! Very quiet and laid back this time of year. Food was good everywhere we turned. THey have a racket going on with their parking down there though! All public parking is pay to park and it wasn't cheap. $3.50/hour to park!
If you've never been there, it comes highly recommended! Toured the lighthouse and took a trolley tour of Old Savannah, GA just to take in the magnificent old homes that are there! Decided to stop in Pigeon Forge on the way home just for a couple of days, visited Anakeesta in Gatlinburg, and traveled up to Clingmon's Dome to see one of the highest points in the mountain!
Did a lot more hiking than we'd planned when we left but had an amazing time! Still a lot of social distancing, masks required, every other table in most of the resteraunts.

Happy anniversary, MH. 31 years is quite an accomplishment.
My wife always talks about going to the Biltmore. Now that I know it costs $75 I can shut that down. She also took the trolley tour in Savannah. Did the Forest Gump look-alike get on board?

Happy anniversary MH, my wife and I went to Ashville last year. We took the guided tour at night it was lit up with Christmas lights and the next day we toured the house on our own, I liked it better. Took us almost 3 hours. If you go back to Savannah make sure you stay at the Marshall house, we stayed there, the owners said it was the most haunted house in Savannah.

I do want to see Biltmore and Dollywood lit up at Christmas time! I also hear Graceland is very pretty at Christmas too! No, Forrest didn't get on board but we did have some interesting characters board our trolley!
