The temperature here is supposed to drop to 29 tomorrow. The older I get, the more I dread the cold weather. If the election doesn't go my way, it will be a long, dark, cold one anyway!

Yikes! When I read your post, I checked my forecast. It will be a nice, sunny 59 degrees this afternoon, but tomorrow night it will dip to 27 degrees.
Time to drag the old cowskin (my trusty leather winter coat) out of the closet. November is coming at us hard!

Eeh, it's supposed to get back up to almost 70 by next weekend. Thank God for global warming!

Where I live the current Temp is 80 degrees.

You probably didn't have frost this morning either, CMD!

Lows in the 50's, highs in the 60's here.

I think Trey is the furthest north of all of us, and I would be a close second. I really don't like gray, cold winters. As soon as it is feasible, I hope to move to a warmer climate.

I don't want to hear anymore out of you, CMD.
Actually, I'm golfing Saturday in Paris, Ky. Temp is supposed to be in the low 70's. Gotta like it!

Paul, I was brought up in Rockford Ilinois which is real close to the Wisconsin border so i do know what snow is like. I hated it back then and vowed I would get the heck out of there the first chance i got. I finally got my wish by moving to St.Augustine Florida (at the age of 68) and enjoying of every minute of it.

When in the Air Force, I did get to spend 4 years in Tuscon, but I got a payback by being sent to Grand Forks, North Dakota for another four. That was beyond belief for me, when the wind chill hit -95! Life went on. We didn't get off work and the kids didn't get out of school. I don't plan to ever go back there, even for a visit!

I'm just driving down from N. Ky to golf. My brother played Houston Oaks there a couple of months ago and really liked the course. It's only an hour and 15 minute from my house.

Paulcat I haven't played Houston oaks but know where it is - Lexington side of Paris. I used to play the Paris Country Club when I played and in from overseas or Washington etc. Paris is a nice town.

I hit a man with a golf ball on the Paris Country Club golf course about 35 years ago.
Someone will have to jog my memory. There was a hole that you couldn't take the golf carts over to. There was a walk bridge over to the green. He was walking across the bridge coming back to his cart when I sliced the ball so hard that it hit him in the arm!

That's funny M ham - I think there was a par 3 that u couldn't take your golf cart to and a bridge to walk over.
Which reminds me on number 3/4 parallels with Stoner Creed I was in from overseas and was invited to play in a tournament. Anyway I hit my driver and it sliced toward Stoner Creek and unbeknown to me there was a guy taking a leak behind a tree and the ball hit him in the head and almost knocked him in the creek.
As his friend was driving him back to the clubhouse, they passed us and he was just glaring at me. I said "sorry Buddy" and again unbeknown to me (I found out later) that was his name... He probably wondered for a long time who was it who hit him and how did he know my name!!

That's one funny story.
Another one I remember well was when I was playing golf with some co-workers at Gen Butler State Park in Carrolton, KY. We were on hole number 7 and he'd hit his ball further than me, we decided, for some reason that day, to walk the course. It was only 9 holes. he laid his bag out in the middle of the fairway to wait for me to hit my ball, naturally he moved to the side of the fairway to not be in my direct line of shot. I hit my shot, a worm burner about 10 inches off the ground and it hit the bottom of his golf bag with so much speed that it sounded like a gun going off when it struck the bottom.
I think it may have even split the plastic on the bottom of the bag!

It must've been close to 80 here today. Played 18 holes this afternoon. Had 6 pars and 1 birdie on the day. Should've been 2 birdies but 1 shot turned out rather than dropping. Shot an 83 on the day.
