Did you have any storm damage? I called my sister, who lives near Dawson Springs, she said they had minor damage. She said there was some pretty serious damage in the area and she thought Dawson Springs may have been hit pretty hard.

I have family and friends in Mayfield. They are all ok but their property is not.

Since posting this I’ve seen pictures of Dawson Spings. It doesn’t look good. I hope all is well with you and your family.

Saw those pictures too handycat, it looks as bad as Mayfield, just a smaller town.

Prayers to those who were in the path of this storm, and to those responding to those in need.

Norm, I sure hope you are OK.

Friends, we need to send up prayers for Norm and family and everyone else around the Dawson Springs area.

I talked to my sister this morning who lives 8 miles from Dawson Springs and she said the town has been devastated. Her best friend is in critical condition and her husband was killed. She personally knew two other people in Dawson Springs that lost their life. She has no idea how many have died. Mayfield has gotten all the publicity because it is several times larger than Dawson Springs. My sister and family worked most of the day in down trying to help and are going back today.

Again, if you are of a praying nature, it would be a good time to pray for folks in that area.

That video is horrific. Looks like video from Hiroshima or Stalingrad!

BUT, I have great news! Norm reached out to me to say that he and Millie are just fine, the tornado did not come through their side of town. But, they are without water, electricity or interne, so they have temporarily relocated to be with his daughter in Bowling Green.

Whew! THAT was a relief to hear!!!!

A fellow church member said her brother was a DR who lived about 20 miles outside of Dawson Springs. They weren't affected but he was assisting the local hospitals with the triage of the injured!

Well, I had a long post typed, and before I could hit 'send', it disappeared. I will try again after a while. The answer to cmd's question is 18 dead so far.

Norm it sounds like you guys are as OK as can be under the circumstances. Praise God for that.

Prayers are lifted up daily that those who have suffered loss will be comforted and given strength to get through this tragedy.

I hear water is back on at our house in south Dawson Springs. Not so on north side. Tornado pulled a fire hydrant out of the ground and broke a 6-inch steel water pipe in the process. They can't get water back on there until all leaks are fixed, including that one and a bunch more feeding totaled houses.
