Shooting Guard
BJ Boston - Boston is the No. 10 player in the 2020 class and is ranked as the No. 2 shooting guard. The Georgia native plans to take his official visit to Kentucky on July 25th, and recently altered his final list. He is still considering Duke, Auburn, Florida, and Kentucky, but he recently decided to add Oregon into the mix.
Josh Christopher - Christopher is the latest player to receive an offer from Kentucky. Listed as the No. 1 shooting guard in 2020, he has openly discussed his Kentucky fandom before. I know everyone has become gun-shy of the “dream school” phrase, but Christopher sounds like a bonafide member of Big Blue Nation.
Combo Guard
Cade Cunningham - In a world of positionless basketball, being about to play the point as well as score the basketball is almost a requirement. Although many gave up on Cunningham when his older brother was hired as an assistant at Oklahoma State, he insists that his recruitment is wide open. And with Tyrese Maxey working hard to recruit him as well, you have to give Kentucky a puncher’s chance.
Jalen Green - Green is the No. 3 overall player in 2020, Green was not the first player to receive an offer from Kentucky. And apparently he took that personally, working hard to prove himself and ultimately receiving that offer. He is a priority for Calipari, and the perfect player to build a class around.
Scottie Barnes - It feels like Kentucky has been recruiting Barnes for a decade, as he was one of the first 2020 recruits to be offered by Coach Cal, but we will likely not get a decision from him any time soon. As the No. 2 small forward in the class he is as much of a difference maker as there is in the country. He could be the centerpiece of the class for any school that lands him.
Cam’Ron Fletcher - Fletcher is one of only two 4-star players in 2020 to receive an offer from John Calipari. Fletcher is the No. 8 small forward in the class, but there is something that Coach Cal likes about him for sure. He may be looking to commit this fall, and it will be interesting to see how Calipari reacts if he is still waiting on some of the bigger fish in the class.
Power Forward
Isaiah Todd - Kentucky has long been the favorite to land Todd, a 6-10 forward that has size as well as agility. There was a brief rumor about him reclassifying to 2019, but it now seems certain he will stay in the 2020 class. If Kentucky can land him early, he is a great guy to build around.
Center
N’Faly Dante - If you follow recruiting at all, you have heard about Dante. There continues to be a lot of buzz about him joining the 2019 class, and now that Peach Jam is over he could end up making an announcement soon. Oregon and LSU seem to be Kentucky’s primary competition for the No. 3 center in the class.
Cliff Omoruyi - Omoruyi is the other 4-star player with a scholarship offer from Kentucky, and the Wildcats may very well be in the lead for him. Especially if Dante plays in 2019, Omoruyi could end up being a priority in 2020. It’s hard to teach size, and at 6-11 he seems to have the raw ability to be a solid post player.
