With Jai Lucas accepting a position for the Kentucky Wildcats, that means he could be bringing a few recruits with him that he was recruiting at Texas.
One of those recruits could be Daimion Collins, a five-star center out of Texas, who is ranked as the No. 19 prospect by 247 Sports. Collins originally cut his to 10 in July with the likes of Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Alabama, Houston, Kansas, LSU, Baylor, and Texas Tech making his list.
Since Coach Lucas made the move to Lexington, Collins received an offer from Kentucky, since Lucas was Collins’ main recruiter at Texas.
This is what Collins had to say about Kentucky extending an offer via 247 Sports’ Brandon Jenkins.
“It felt great to get the offer from them because they are a really great basketball program. It is probably every kid’s dream to get an offer from a big school like Kentucky. Coach (John) Calipari likes how I can get up and down the floor, defend, and versatility on the offensive end. I have not talked to Coach Lucas since he has accepted his job offer. Coach (Joel) Justus has been the main coach recruiting me. They tell me how Coach Calipari has had great success with players like me. They are confident that they will put me in the right positions to get me to where I need to be.”
