For a while Cal was striking out on the few top kids he wanted and it looked grim. But now he has a list of 8 kids who are near the level of those he started after.
He already has a super surprise with the signing of Nolan Hickman at the guard position.
Then there is Hunter Sallis who has all the crystal ball picks for UK. I think we will sign him in the spring if......... Hardy and Clark both go elsewhere.
Jaden Hardy will be a hard sign though he had all the crystal ball picks for UK, was a UK lean back when, but now it looks like he has a 50-50 chance of going to the G league.
Skyy Clark has been a UK lean and all the crystal ball picks are for UK. But lately there have been whispers of UNC getting into his head. Again, He needs to pick UK before the spring and Hunter Sallis making up his mind. Don't think both will sign with UK.
Bryce Hopkins looked to be a quick sign by UK but he has continued unsigned for a while now and the longer he stays uncommitted the less chance UK has of getting him.
Then there are the 3 big guys who have recently received attention from Cal. These guys could all be more than one year players. None has an offer from UK but I think someone will receive one soon if UK is really interested. They are Moussa Diabate, 6-10/F, Mac Etienne, 6-10/C and Cyr Malonga, 6-11/C. They are too new on the scene to predict what they have on their minds. I see any of them asa player similar to Richards. They need a lot of experience thru more than 1 year. AS I posted above, I am in agreement with these gurus. I am pretty sure we sign Sallis. Whether he ends up in the class of 2021 or stays in 2022 I don't know, but there would be room for him on the 2021 class. Hopkins just wants to make sure he's looked at all the options, but in the end I think he knows UK is the best place for him. Clark I think is still UK's to lose. The only problem would be Hardy. As long as Hardy doesn't come to UK we will sign him.
There are a couple bigs out there also and if Cal wants a project or two he could put the pressure on them to sign.
"""A Crystal Ball pick from new national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi--his first with the company--has led to an avalanche of Kentucky projections for a trio of top UK recruiting targets.
Over the last week, a total of nine Crystal Ball picks, including seven from 247Sports national recruiting analysts, have been logged in favor of the Wildcats with relatively high confidence scores:
Hunter Sallis: Eric Bossi (4), Jerry Meyer (6)
Bryce Hopkins: Dushawn London (7), Brandon Jenkins (9), Eric Bossi (6), Travis Branham (7)
Skyy Clark: Brandon Jenkins (9)""" [ 10-13-2020, 03:42 PM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]

bama... Sallis is a 2021 recruit. Clark is the one that might reclass from 2022 to 2021. If Clark reclassifies to 2021 and picks uk (we will know next week) then I think Sallis goes to UNC.

You're most likely right.

Well we pretty much had this all figured out. Clark is a wildcat. So we now have 2 guards for the 21 class, or we have 1 for the 21 class and 1 for the 22 class. I think we can still sign Sallis in the spring unless Call gets Hardy.
