A new name has emerged on Kentucky's 2022 recruiting radar.
NJCAA Division I Player of the Year and John A. Logan College (Ill.) guard Sean East has included the Wildcats in his top six alongside BYU, Clemson, Missouri, Oregon, and South Florida.
East averaged 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists this season with six 30-point games and 13 games of 20 or more points with three double-doubles en route to being named an NJCAA First Team All-American. In the second round of the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship, East made 15 of 27 shots, 4 of 7 three-pointers and 9 of 11 free throws on his way to a season-high 43 points.

IMO, JUCO basketball is a lot like AAU ball... a lot of offense and very little defense.
Our experience with JUCO players has been mixed. I am always willing to give a JUCO player a chance, but my expectations are more like a 3-star freshman than anything else. And, since there is only a couple of years to groom them to D1 basketball, my hope is that they can develop into a good contributor by the end of their second season.
If I were building a program, JUCOs and one-and-done freshmen should be just "fill ins", with the core of the team being solid, smart, 4-year players that grow into grizzled veterans. But, I am old-school... and not a coach. So, my opinion is worth as much or as little as anybody's. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

I would have to say I'm in that same category. I've followed BB some 60+ years and think I know a lot but when it comes down to it, I'm just a novice coach>
