Vegas has Bama as a point and a half favorite, so I'll take the Tide at 17-14.

Didn't watch the whole game, but I thought LSU should have benched its starting QB. If Spurrier had the reigns at LSU, the score would have been much different. I don't understand why some teams treat a QB as a sacred cow. They can have bad games like any other player and when they do, put another player in and see what happens.

Actually LSU's starter should be in jail not playing football. He kicked a former Marine in the head during a bar room fight - him and his buddy's that is - and was at first charged with felony battery but got it reduced to a misdemeandor. Good enough for LSU - play him!
P.S. My in laws are all from Ala and die hard Ala fans and they say and I agree, that Saban is to football what Cal is to basketball!!

Ed, that's sick which player was it that did that horrible deed? The guy should have been in Jail not on the football field. Bama made LSU look like a high school team and after hearing that story it makes the Bama victory that much better. Roll tide Roll!

Jordan Jefferson, the LSU starting quarterback. That is why it wasn't the starter at the beginning of the year.

In jail? He's lucky to be able to still walk! Generally speaking, I try to avoid including Marines in my bar-room brawls...

If I recall, there were actually four guys beating on one Marine. I'd like to have seen Jefferson go after him one-on-one. Would have been a different outcome I'm sure.

Bruce, If that is case (a beating by 4 athletes in a bar on a US serviceman)) it's hard to believe that a coach and instiution like LSU would be so lenient on the offending players. It sure doesn't send a good message to the public about what colleges expect from their student athletes. [ 01-11-2012, 10:30 AM: Message edited by: catmandoo ]
