A masterful job of scheduling. If all goes as expected, we never fall more than 1 game under .500, keeping spirits high. We should win six games, making us bowl-eligible, even without knocking off any powerhouses. A road win against Mississippi State is the tallest order, but if we avoid major injuries, it is within the realm of possibility. All UK needs to do is take care of business, win the ones we should win, and not be discouraged by the likely lop-sided losses to UofL, Florida, LSU, Georgia, and possibly USC.

I believe we have a solid chance of 7-5 this year.
I see wins at the same ones that Tiptree plus upset special - we beat SC. [Big Grin]

Hope we are better but will accept that as pretty good...

I don't see UL as such a lopsided loss. Yes, I suspect we'll lose but it'll again be close just like it was last year. We were a yard away from a tie ball game last year. That team was nationally ranked most of the season. All you have to remember is that it is a rivalry game That always seems to throw all records and predictions out the window!

if we could win 6 games it would be great and with this schedule we have a good chance of doing it. anything better would be frosting on the cake...

Lots of factors in order to determine if UK can have a winning schedule. Sure, the schedule is managable. But consider, that UK trialed in the fourth quarter to Idaho State last year. UK has a defense that nearly gives up 200 per game on the ground. And a defense that doesn't create many turnovers. Some say Mike Archer is vastly overrated as a defensive coordinator. UK has stopped nobody with him as the DC.
Quarterback play is another important factor. In june, tough to say who will start at QB. Pulley shown flashes but not a passer, and Woodson has a tough time avoiding the rush. Not a big playmaker.
Central Michigan and Texas State may look easy but this is UK football folks. Its never easy. Over the last 50 years UK football has been a bad road team and hardly ever wins the close games at home. Who knows just how good those injured players are for this year???
3-5 wins this season is certainly possible. Plus, the best CB Beau Smith has been ripped off the roster due to suspension. Probably 4-8 season this year. UK fans certainly deserve so much better!

thecatman said," . Plus, the best CB Beau Smith has been ripped off the roster due to suspension. bo smith has no one to blame but himself as he has had plenty of chances. earlier in his career he was suspended for being in a fight he started and was hit over the head with a baseball bat, he also was kept out of spring practice to study, as his grades needed to be improved..he has nobody to blame but himself for letting the team and himself down. personally i think the team is better off without him even with his God given talent..

Let me get this straight.
You're saying that this UK team, returning most of it's starters and backups, adding over 20 players that missed at least some of last year due to injury, around 20 redshirt Freshmen from a good recruiting class and 25 more newcomers from arguably UK's best recruiting class in many years, along with an assistant coach that has 20 years experience and a national championship on his resume, and a staff and team in the second year of their offensive and defensive schemes making everyone more familiar and comfortable in their roles, against this 'creampuff' schedule is only going to win one more game this year?

Boy - aren't you the eternal optimist! [Roll Eyes]

Watch out for Central Michigan. A sleeper team in the MAC.
The chips should have beaten IU last year in the home opener.
RB Snead is outstanding, so is speed rusher DE Bazuin.
Possible upset at that juncture of the season.

FYI, on SEC Illustrated.com, we did polls for the members to see where they think everyone will stand at the end of the year. The overwhelming consensus amongst the rest of our SEC bretheren is 5-7. Of course, they think we'll go down to the Rebs. Send this to Coach Orgeron: NOT IN OUR HOUSE BABY!
