Freshman Micah Johnson will make his first career start at middle linebacker Saturday against Texas State. Johnson, who had seven tackles off the bench against U of L, replaces sophomore Braxton Kelley.
Also, Lyons, who had two catches for 84 yards and two TDs, will start at receiver ahead of DeMoreo Ford.
Strong safety Roger Williams had a death in the family and will miss practice time this week, which means true freshman Ashton Cobb could start Saturday, and Brooks said freshman defensive tackle Corey Peters will get extended playing time and could start. Brooks said redshirt freshman defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, who had two tackles against Louisville, will get more snaps, as will end J.D. Craigman, who didn't play.
The biggest shakeup will come on the offensive line, where Aitcheson will move from right guard to right tackle to replace Hayden Lane. Fatu Turituri, who started at left guard against U of L, will move to right guard. Christian Johnson will move into the starting lineup at left guard, and Garry Williams will replace James Alexander at left tackle.
Wide receiver John Logan, who was suspended for the Louisville game, will return this week. Offensive lineman Micah Jones, who was also serving a one-game suspension, is still having back problems and was scheduled to have an epidural shot this week.
Injury update
Senior defensive end Durrell White is questionable for Texas State with a hyperextended elbow. Safety Michael Schwindel suffered a torn ligament and broken bone in his thumb and is out for Saturday. He could play with a cast in the weeks ahead.
