UK's 81.5 rushing yards per game is 24 fewer than 11th-place Mississippi State. But, surprisingly, Kentucky's lack of a running game hasn't hampered the passing attack. UK is fourth in the league in passing yards per game (247), and Brooks credits Andre Woodson's improvement in getting the ball out of his hands quickly for much of the success.

the running game is not always about the ball carrier. The O line has to make a hole for the runner to get through as well. Play calling makes a difference too. More quick handoff's will improve how the offensive line looks. that hole won't stay open forever!

mh, you are so right! we have a couple of great runners and they would do just fine if they had some blocking..we have a young and inexperienced line that will get better but until they do our running game will suffer..

The other problem is play calling. IF it takes forever for a play to develop don't you think that gives the defense more opportunity to locate the ball, and or ball carrier? WE need more quick hitting running plays!
