Andre Woodson was not as sharp as usual. He had time to throw but seemed to be having trouble finding his receivers. Maybe SC's D-Backs are too good.
Our defense played better the second half, but our offense just couldn't seem to get untracked. We came within a jump ball there at the end of evening the score, but came up empty.
Getting to win #6 is going to be very difficult now.

No it's not--we have Mississippi State, UL-Monroe, and Vandy still on the schedule. We should win all three of those games.

We came within defending a bull**** reverse pass into double coverage of beating SC. Or at least getting them to OT.
I'm really pissed off with the defense, not the players so much, but with the scheme.
USC played a GD beautiful game offensively. UK had 3 possessions in the first half. That's playing a ball control game if I ever seen one.

18-31 289 yards and one touchdown pass is a good night for anyone. we had problems no doubt about it, but to say woodson had trouble finding receivers is not true. 18 completions in 31 attemps is a good night, especially since the completions averaged over 16 yards per throw, and receivers did drop a few other passes that should have been caught.

Maybe I should'n repeat it but I heard Andre Ware say Woodson was the best quarterback he had seen so far this year.

Guys it was a good game, I think you can easily still get to 6 wins and a bowl. Good luck the rest of the season and we will see you in Jan./Feb. for basketball.

I heard Ware make that comment about Woodson also. The dropped passes were killing us last night. Also you make your breaks. Covering up a fumbled punt return on your opponents 3 yard line goes a long way to improving the outlook of a ballgame as well.

Anyone still believing we'll get 6 wins is defying all logic. This team has some good players but as I've said before we are still lacking enough good players to go bowling without some devine intervention.
Those 3 games are all winable as was said. But the way this team plays, up and down, you know everything must fall into place and these guys will have to play better than we did on defense last night.
I hope they do win 6 games but that is still not ensuring us a bowl game. I'm afraid there will be some 6 win teams this year that fail to go to a bowl.

And well there should be. 6-6 should not be good enough to go to a bowl game. All it means is there are too many bowl games and therefore they do not mean as much. The bigger thing would be for this team to get to 6-6. It shows progress, even if the 6 wins are against lesser opponents, at least it would be 6 wins. They are getting better by steps. A few more great players and they will be competing with the upper half of the Eastern Division. When was the last time we could say that?

6 wins just makes a team bowl eligible, it doesn't guarentee anything.
This was a game UK could have won and in my opinion, should have won.
I like how Andre Ware was giving props to Woodson. It's nice to have a Heisman trophy quarterback sing your praises on national tv.
Woodson was 18-31. He should have been closer to 24-31 and over 300 yards if several passes weren't dropped. He looked very poised and confident. What a difference a year has made for Woodson.
UK's defense... Well, until they can stop the run and get a coach that has proper defensive sets, it's going to be more of the same. At one point, UK had a defensive end covering a wide receiver... guess who wins that matchup?
UK may still get 6 wins, but 2 of those won't exactly be sure thing kinds of wins. I'm not even sure about the third win.

Woodson did overthrow a couple of open receivers(missed Burton down close to the goal) and there were some drops as well(Steve Johnson dropped a catchable high pass on a 2nd and long that would've made it 3rd and short in the 4th quarter).
Anyway, it was just another missed opportunity in a long line of missed opportunities that has been UK football over the years.

Please note that Eric Collins and color analysts Andre Ware, are on the ESPN JV TV crew. So, I would not take what Ware has to say with much thought. I mean this crew usually announces not the best of games on ESPN.

catman, if you use that analogy it would mean you, me and every other poster don't know a darn thing as we are posting on the lowly internet...we all know that can't be right because we all know everything..

You can say what you want about Ware, but he does have a little hardware that very few can say they personally own!!

the "jv" crew of espn is a great position and they don't hire any smuck for that job...andre woodson is a very good quarterback and he will get better, especially if the line gives him some time, and the receivers hang on to the ball..

Andre Ware may be on the "JV" analyst crew because he might not be the strongest color analyst. However, he was a pretty successful football player. He only won the Heisman trophy from a team that was on probation in 1989, had no TV exposure that season, and beat out guys like Anthony Thompson, Major Harris, Tony Rice, Emmitt Smith, and Rocket Ismail.
So yeah, when he says a player, especially a QB is pretty good, I tend to take his word for it.
