Wide receiver Keenan Burton, tight end Jacob Tamme, and quarterback Andre' Woodson have been named to the All-Southeastern Conference Team selected by The Associated Press.
Burton actually was named twice -- first team as an all-purpose player and second team as a wide receiver. Tamme was a first-team pick and Woodson was a second-team choice.

Wow. I would have voted Burton as first team as a wide-out, and Woodson as first-team QB, and Tamme as second team TE. Burton would have gotten a nod as first- or second-team for his returns as well.

Burton had at least two TD catches in four or five consequetive games. Woodson was the best QB in the league. Tamme was an outstanding TE, but didn't shine as brightly as the Woodson-Burton duo.

Just my humble opinion...

tiptree, a very good opinion and i bet the nfl scouts feel the same way about keenan burton. he definetly has the ability to be a nfl player. burton not only is a great receiver he has the ability to be a return man also which gives him even more credibility.

I would have put Woodson above Russell as 1st team QB as well. Woodson averaged about 35 yards more passing per game and also led the conference in total offense.

Russell had a better passing efficiency than Woodson, but Woodson was right on his heels in that regard.

I think Russell got the nod simply because LSU had a more successful season than UK. I can't think of any other reason why the AP would have picked him over Woodson.

No doubt that the UK program's econd or third tier status cost Woodson and Burton. My guess is that in September most fans would have been very pleased with the results.
