What a game, right down to the last second. A 17-14 win for Auburn who wins in the swamp on a last second field goal..

What is your thoughts on Meyer in the officials ear and calling time out just before the ball is centered. As it turned out the kick was good and Auburn had to re-kick because of the time out. The great part was the kid came right back and made it again.. [Smile] [Smile] [Smile]

I can't stand that in any level of the game. They do it in the NFL all the time and the Broncos even won because of it. I think that it is a lame tactic that hurts the integrity of the game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the NCAA legislate against the tactic but not disallowing it altogether. Not so likely in NFL.

I agree this tactic is becoming a bigger and bigger problem but I am not sure exactly how to ban it.

If you notice at the last second that your team only has 10 men on the field or that you are horribly out of alignment or that one of your players just fell down on the field with horrible cramping, you should be able to call a timeout.

These last-second TOs for nothing but strategy are a real problem, though.

There have actually been two games won in the NFL on this strategy (last second TO where original kick is made but re-kick is missed).

I hate kickers so I love it!
No need to have soccer players deciding the outcome of a warrior's game who have been battling in the trenches all day.

Either go for it or punt it. And all extra points are two point conversions.
