Our defense is horrible and Woodson doesnt look like he is on his game today. We cannot stop them on offense and had better get a touchdown every possession in the second half or we lose.

I think we can call this the "hangover" game.

KY is getting beat on both sides of the line, and KY's inability to stop the run is opening up passing lanes for MS.

It's also evident that MS came to lay it out and put their heart's into it and KY did not. Evidence both Woodson and Locke both letting up at the end of plays in that last 1st half drive, it it almost cost Woodson and may have cost Locke an injury.

This team looks like the UK of old.
No desire, no hustle and no emotion. Hate I planned my Saturday around today's game, this sucks!!
And Woodson can kiss his Heisman hopes goodbye!

Yep, the old UK has returned. MS is congtrolling all aspects of the game, and giving them 10 pts on early 2nd half turnovers have just about sealed our defeat.

Unlness the offense cranks it up really big, this game is over.

It's a complete melt down..

This is gross, UNC you saw it coming I think, I called the first half but I thought UK would pick it up, lets see if the new Kats the ones who don't give up and actaully come back come back! Our defense is horrible, they are running the ball right down our throat! This will be the start of a day of huge upsets all day IMO!

Paid $21.95 to watch on SlingBox. A big mistake so far!

Why can't we go downfield with the passes????>?

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 01:40 PM:

I'm getting sick of these screens that go nowhere. Is Woodson audibling into all these?

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 01:40 PM:

Unbelievable touchdown pass. That was fortunate, but I'll take it!!

Posted by TampaKat (Member # 2109) on 10-27-2007, 01:41 PM:

That was a heck of a throw there! Can't we do that all day? How bad was the late hit call but we missed the field goal anyway but that call was horrific!

IT'S TIME FOR THE 'D' TO STEP UP

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 01:44 PM:

We absolutely cannot cover the 8-yd pass [Mad]

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 10-27-2007, 01:45 PM:

Now is the time to turn it around. We just need a few stops to let Woodson do his thing!

Posted by TampaKat (Member # 2109) on 10-27-2007, 01:51 PM:

If they score again or sustain a long drive it could be to late, when I first saw that last play I thought it was pass intereference but after looking at the replay it was good D

We are going to win 28-24 here it comes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Brandon (Member # 108) on 10-27-2007, 01:57 PM:

Well, it looks like the team decided to show up the last few series. I guess they thought the game started at 3:00 or something.

These penalties though are killer. The false start on 2nd and 1 that turned into 2nd and 6 really stalled the previous offensive series.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 02:04 PM:

As bad as the 'D' has looked today, it's the Offense that's letting us down. Woodson can't find an open receiver in the 10-12 yd range and is heaving "hail mary's" toward Steve Johnson.

BTW, Moncell Allen looking good.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 02:07 PM:

Another fumble -- this is just a joke today. Why are we calling a running play on a fourth and two with a rookie running back. Although Allen has looked good this game, he or Woodson botched this play big time.

I don't think this bunch wants to be out there. Their heads are certainly not in the game.

BRING ON BASKETBALL !!!

UK is running out of chances here. 10 points means 2 scores. They got MSU to punt. Now it's time to get serious or go home.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 02:13 PM:

MS must have some terrific defensive secondary players as Woodson has struggled all game to find an open pass into the middle, other than the screens that go nowhere.

This is disappointing, but let's give MS some credit. They have outplayed us and will probably win. I don't know if we can score twice with 9:20 left and hold MS to 3 and out.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 02:14 PM:

Now Tamme loses a fumble!! We just aren't going to win this game. The football Gods are against us today.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 02:19 PM:

'D' give up a big run and MS leads 31-14.

I think the 'D' played well most of the 2nd half and they finally lost their spirit after all the Offense miscues and special teams miscues.

The 'D' is not all that good, but this loss has to be blamed on the 'O' and special teams.

Posted by TampaKat (Member # 2109) on 10-27-2007, 02:20 PM:

Its us against us, not the Football gods, bad game for lots of reasons, 1. Sec title shot gone, 2. Ranking gone or near the buttom of the top 25, 3. Woodson Heisman barring a matching poor performnace today from Tebow gone, you can't lose everything in one game, but at home against a 4-4 MSU to play like this it hurts all of the things I mentioned above and more! How vulnerable does LSU look now?

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 10-27-2007, 02:22 PM:

Forget the Heisman for Woodson. It was unlikely even before today, but now.................

Posted by TampaKat (Member # 2109) on 10-27-2007, 02:25 PM:

I am not running around beating my chest about this one, but watch the game at 3:30 in Jackonsville and lets critique the two Qb's after that game, I think you will see a big big difference!!!!!

Hangover game folks. I hate it but I had a bad feeling about today.
Folks I know we were without our best WR (Burton), Tamme was not 100% and we ended the game with our 4th string tailback but there was no emotion whatsoever.
And what really disappoints me is there was no leadership from Woodson, our Captain.

sure am glad we already got win number six because it may be the last one of the season.

It could get rough with the schedule and you did see this coming, Here comes antoher Woodson TD stats go up and people dispute my Tebow is way better comment when they look at the stats not realizing all the OT touchdowns count against LSU, We scored at the finish of the UF game with 0 seconds left for a worthless touchdown and I think we scored another air TD worthless too, Heck I want us to go to the outback bowl but now I even doubt that!

There went the "magical" season that this year was supposed to be. We have one really good win folks, let's be honest. We beat a mediocre Louisville team at home whom Syracuse beat. We beat another mediocre team in Arkansas. We laid an egg at South Carolina against a team who scored 6 points against Vanderbilt. We laid a HUGE egg today and this was unexcusable on homecoming, ridiculus. We had a great win against LSU, but that's the only "great" win. We still couldn't beat Spurrier, we still couldn't beat Florida, and it now appears we will be fortunate to win as many games as last year. I thought we would end up 9-3 or 10-2, now I'm thinking 7-5 as bad as we looked today. With losing a lot of key playmakers on offense and playing Florida and Tennessee on the road next year, with the recruiting class Georgia is bringing in, and the fact Spurrier will always have our number, doesn't look bright next year either. Still not sold on Rich Brooks taking this program to the next level as far as competing for SEC titles. This was a good year to do it and we choked. Brooks has a losing career record as a coach and at UK. I'm just really disappointed in this group and the coaching staff today, offensively and defensively.

Oh, and if LSU's receiver doesn't let a pass go right through his hands inside the 20 on their last drive, we lose that one too.

Posted by Brandon (Member # 108) on 10-27-2007, 02:49 PM:

Turnovers. They beat you every time.

Well, I hope they got it out of their system. Come back in 2 weeks and close the deal on this season.

I still say 8-4 with a outback bowl bid!! [Smile]

Posted by Knoxville Cat (Member # 2891) on 10-27-2007, 06:20 PM:

8-4 is logical, but we would have to beat Tennessee to do so cause' we ain't beating Georgia. UT is down, but we haven't beat them in 23 years. Vandy won't be a cakewalk.

Listen, I know we just lost to MS, but we still have a great season going. The players have a bye week to think about their situation and are going to come out healthy against a Vandy team that will have been beaten up by a hungry Florida team. Our fate is in the next three games and the players realize this. The East is such a weird division and honestly we have a great chance of still controlling our own destiny or at least finishing in the top 2. When Woodson throws for tons more TD's with his top receivers and running backs in, we will be back to the team you saw at the beginning of the season. We are for real.

A great season is being 5th, again, in the East? We're 2-3 in the conference and lost to two teams we should have beat in South Carolina and Mississippi State. I don't think being at the bottom of the East, again, is a great season. Disagree if you want, but if having a losing record in the SEC is a great season, then we really have sucked in football for a really long time.

I believe we beat Vandy and Tenn and lose to Ga at their place. That would be a pretty good season and if we could run the table then a pretty good bowl on New Years day would be in the bag. [Big Grin]

UK has traditionally not really ever had any "bad" teams, most of the time they had good players, just not enough of them, and they would play teams tough, most of the time, and every now and then they would pick off an Alabama or a Georgia, and the fans would go crazy over the team.

Again, this season isn't that UK doesn't have the talent, they just don't have enough of it. They are getting a lot better and are establishing some depth at the positions, but one aspect where talent does come into play is the second string and below. Those guys do have tons of natural talent, it just needs to be refined and guys taught to use it to their maximum ability. I'm seeing a lot of guys that were rough around the edges becoming solidly better, Steve Johnson is a great example of that.

But even with talent levels not being at their peak, UK is still giving the teams that are overflowing with talent like LSU and Florida all they can handle. But, then you have games like Carolina and Miss. St. in which it looked like the talent switch was turned off that day.

UK looks like a team that has finally got the opportunity to rev it's engines and see what it has under the hood. There are still a few bolts that need tightened and a couple of connections that need to be checked but otherwise they are looking pretty decent right now.

Just one last thing on a personal note, I know the basketball season is coming up this week and I'm excited about it as everyone is but when a person joins a conversation about the football team and makes a comment along the lines of "don't worry, basketball is just around the corner" that really is a slap in the face of the football team and the things they have accomplished this season. The basketball team hasn't played a game yet, you don't know how they will do this year. This football team has defied all kinds of expectations this season and has performed very well and deserve their time alone in the spotlight for awhile. Basketball will be here after the football season is over. Give the football guys the credit they deserve.
