Is he hurt again? My goodness, the man needs to just be in a bubble if he can't go one half of football without getting some type of minor injury.

That is really to bad and feel like if Little had been healthy through out his career here he would have been the best back we ever had at Kentucky. However with that said Derrick Locke looks to be the kind of back that might even be better than Little. He is faster and bigger and may be the kind of back that will be more durable...

I think you have a point, catfannfl: Faster? Definitely. Bigger? Probably not. Not that it matters all that much. Pardon the phrase but, Little is indeed brittle.

He is brittle. I think Locke is better than Little was his Freshman year. He's not bigger than Rafael, but is a lot faster. What has made Rafael so good over the years is his ability to be elusive and juke. What makes Locke good is the fact that he is so low to the ground and quick, it's hard to tackle him. Not to mention if he hits a seam, it's over. We need a healthy Rafael, but if he can't get healthy, I trust the ball in Locke's hands.

You can go to the UK athletics site and it will give you the listed weight of each player. Just click on football, roster, and you will get your info.

That is a surprise as Locke hits the hole real fast and hard. He isn't afraid to go up the middle for a back with that much speed...I am shocked he weighs only 180 lbs...

Here is Derrick Lock's bio, it was good to see he is a honor roll student..A true student athlete, we are lucky to have him..

A University of Kentucky track signee who also plans to play football … In football, was Most Valuable Player of Oklahoma Class AAA as a senior … Rushed for approximately 3,250 yards and scored 51 touchdowns during his senior season … Returned punts and kickoffs, with one punt return touchdown and two kickoff return TDs during his final year … Also named all-state, all-district, and the Red River Valley Player of the Year … Four-year starter at Hugo High School … Team’s best season came during his senior year, notching a 10-3 record and advancing to the state playoffs … Started at running back as a freshman, moved to quarterback his sophomore and junior seasons, then returned to running back as a senior … Also saw reserve action on defense at linebacker and cornerback … Coached by Tommy Bare … Tremendous track athlete, competing in the long jump, 100-meter dash, and 4x100-meter relay … Set a state record, and had the longest jump in the nation this year, with a leap of 25 feet, 4 Ύ inches … Won the state meet in that event as a junior and senior … Also won the state in the 100 dash his senior year … Best time in electronic clocking is 10.6 seconds … Joined the powerlifting team his senior year … Named the “Lifter of the Meet” for his weight class at the state meet … Honor-roll student … Was recruited by numerous Big XII schools, but decided on Kentucky because of the opportunity to participate in both sports in the Southeastern Conference.

A true student athlete
