Sorry, Bobby, but I'm not buying it.

The academic scandal is a convenient alibi. What was the excuse against Florida and Wake Forest and Virginia Tech and all of those other losses over the past few years?

No doubt about it, FSU was short-handed Monday as a result of an internal investigation into academic misconduct. The situation was so dire that Chief Osceola didn't make the trip after it was learned he cheated on his final exam in Smoke Signals 101.

That was a joke, just like the other 10 million jokes since the news broke that FSU would be playing the Music City Bowl without a good portion of its roster. (Did you hear what the Seminoles players got for their bowl gift in Nashville? The answers to next semester's Music History exam. Thank you, I'll be here all week.).

FSU was short on players, but not short on talent. UK did all they could to keep FSU in the game by losing 3 fumbles and 1 interception, but in the end Kentucky just had too many weapons and hung on to win it.

Like I saw on the wb blog by Bozich this morning. FSU has had 59 4 and 5 star recruits in teh last 4 years. KY has had 5! Don't tell me FSU was short on talent!

Fl St did not have the depth that they normally have!! - well join the club as we have in the past never had the depth to hang in there with the big boys. Our time has come where we now have great backups and can play with the Fl St's.

I got sick of the game callers crying all day about how the 40 zillion players left behind etc bah bah

Cheaters are Cheaters and I can tell you right now it was pretty bad or the University would never have stepped on Daddy Bowdens toes!!! [Big Grin]

I would suggest we should be thankful they are cheaters, otherwise that game might have been a blowout and not in our favor.

If we hadn't turned the ball over so much over we would have blown them out too. However i just don't think you can use the "what if" angle. If your not sure it's best to leave it alone...

Most of our turnovers were due to solid hits on Little and pressure on Andre'. They weren't simply mental mistakes by our guys, except for the stupid move by Johnson to not go to the turf after the interception, a la Marty Moore. I still believe that with a full complement of players, FSU would have blown this team out. Don't want to believe that, but we are still short in numbers of talented athletes. We have really good individuals in spots, but not numbers.

I pretty much agree with bayer. Of all the bowl games I've watched the MCB was the most poorly executed. Neither Cats or 'Noles performed well, neither look well-coached or disciplined.

I still question the validity of UK's first fumble. That alone lead to a 14-point turnaround.

The Cats still played (and play-called) some pretty dumb football in the fourth quarter.

From my seat on the couch, the ball was clearly out before he was down on the first fumble.

It was a fumble. I didn't want it to be cause we were on the verge of crushing Free Shoes U at that point!!

Yeah, ball security didn't seem to make the team meetings before the game for some reason. UK was also the recipient of some favorable calls against FSU, but then FSU had their share of favorable calls as well.

I didn't like the idea of going conservative in the last half of the fourth quarter. UK should have been playing to crush FSU. But, if they are going to go conservative, the idea is to keep the clock moving so why throw down the field? Why are the backs running out of bounds? If it would have been my decision, Little would have had damn near 40 touches in that game.

But, the end result is what matters and UK had the most points at the end of the game and that was good enough for me.
