After a series of whirlwind negotiations, the Indianapolis Colts reached agreements yesterday on four-year deals with six of their draft picks, including former University of Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme, their fourth-round selection. Financial terms weren't released.

Max, and everybody else on TCD:
The small college where I am employed hosts the annual Colts pre-season camp (which starts today!). If any of you are interested in stopping by to see Tamme, JLo, or the rest of the Colts work up a sweat and maybe play a scrimmage or two, do let me know. My office is just a football-field away from the training facility, so we can walk meet and walk over there together!

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, in Terre Haute. We have hosted the Colts for the last 10 years (Anderson had the camp before that).
Coincidentally, for those same 10 years we have hosted the colts, we have been ranked number 1 nationwide in our category (undergraduate engineering schools that do not offer the doctorate degree) by US News. It has been a good time to be at Rose!

Jlo signed a one-year deal, and he is 'in the mix' with Gray from Jacksonville (also signed to a one-year deal). JLo has the advantage in that the Giants playbook is very similar to Indy's; Gray has more experience (he went 2-2 as the QB for the Jags, while JLo completed two passes )
I would love to see JLo make the Colts as the backup to yet another Manning -- especially given the reality that Peyton is not guaranteed to be back for the opener. Even if Peyton recovers from the surgery quickly enough, he will be a bit rusty, which likely translates to more snaps for his backup. [ 07-27-2008, 07:54 AM: Message edited by: Tiptree ]
