Sounds like Coach Brooks is getting cranked up for Sunday:

quote:
"I don't know, what I've heard is the media doesn't think there is much hype about it this year and it's still the first game so what the hell has happened? Huh?" Brooks said. "What's happened? You tell me. I don't know (why).

I have noticed that this year's game, the first for both this season, has had far less discussion, anticipation and hype than last year's game which was the third of the season. I recall all the hoopla prior to UK wanting to move the game from the first game of the season claiming that as the first game for both schools it would be talked about from the end of the prior season till the game kicked off.

I just never agreed with that and to me the results this year show that to be the case. It is not when the game is played IMO as it is the caliber of the teams playing. Last year both teams were confident and had high hopes. This year both teams lost a lot of talent especially offensively and we as fans are less certain.

I have to think that UK moving the game last year was in its best interest and did nothing to impact the hoopla over the game as many feared.

Having said that I would like to see more anticipation and excitement for both this game in particular and the season at large.

This time around, UK got the benefit of the extra practice time for their bowl game, while UL sat home. UL is breaking in a new DC. Having the game as an opener, this season, is an advantage for Kentucky.
