It looks to be a real quandry and you can make cases for both sides..

Hartline:
1. Has more expieriance..
2. Looks to have a better arm.
3. Looks to have better judgement.
a.Doesn't throw into traffic.
b.Takes care of the ball.

Cobb:
1.Much more athletic.
2.Moves around in the pocket better.
a.Good scrambler, more time for receivers to get open.
b.Can break for some big gains.

Another problem if Moss is in the game playing quarterback is that it gives us one less talented receiver in the game where as Hartline is a one position player. The coaching staff is confronted with a hard decision on this one and it will be interesting to see which way they go.

What would you do if you had to make the decision?

When you say Moss, I assume you mean Cobb? As in Randall Cobb.

There is little doubt in my mind that, barring injuries, Randall Cobb is the QB of the future -- perhaps for the rest of his time at UK. That is not to say that a two-quarterback scheme won't be followed for period but at some time this season Cobb will become the starter and receive most of the snaps. It's simply a case of talent winning out.

Prophet, i can see where what you are saying might happen this year but in the next couple of years when the 2 new phenom's get here Cobb will end up being a receiver, special teams player and possibly a back-up QB. He is so versitile and talented he has to be on the field somewhere..

I considered Newton and Mossakowski in my assessment, cmd. No way either of them start next year, after that is problematic. Randall Cobb is IMO another Pat White, possibly a Michael Vick (SPCA aside of course).

Cobb is 5'11", maybe. That probably won't get it week in and week out in the SEC with Joker's offensive schemes.

High praise for Cobb based on one performance against shall we say, less than stellar competition. He really looked good, no question and I hope he continues to excel. But I think it is premature to make such wildly optimist predictions.

I have concerns about his size as mentioned before. The SEC can be brutal and typically will have not just large but tall defensive linemen. His ability to elude the pass rush looks great but will he be able to see the receivers?

I won't be surprised either way with Hartline or Cobb winning out for the position but quite honestly I can see it being a tandem all year long.
