Will it be Cobb or Hartline, I think it will More Cobb than Hartline but they both will play. I doubt even he knows who starts until he sees them in practice this week..
Facing a game coach Rich Brooks said it "can't afford to lose," the University of Kentucky football team will try this week to answer some important questions.
Not all of them are about the Wildcats' quarterbacks.
But Brooks does have a decision to make at that position heading into Saturday's game at Mississippi State, after both Mike Hartline and Randall Cobb struggled in this past weekend's 63-5 loss at Florida.
Brooks said on his weekly media teleconference yesterday that he'll likely make a decision about his starting quarterback by tomorrow and added that there "probably will be a few other" changes in the starting lineup when UK (5-3, 1-3 Southeastern Conference) meets Mississippi State (3-5, 1-3).
"Offensively, we just didn't generate anything (against Florida)," the coach said. "Defensively, we were playing catch rather than striking. We didn't have the intensity; we didn't have the energy that we've had."
So Brooks is promising change.
It could start at quarterback, where Hartline, a sophomore who has started every game this season, was 7 for 16 for 33 yards against the Gators.
Cobb, a freshman, entered in the first half and finished the game 9 for 18 for 78 yards. He also carried nine times for a team-high 52 yards.
