We're currently down 7-0 and haven't gotten a first down yet! Come on Defense!!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 02:05 PM:

Nice stop on that 3rd drive!!

Nice throw and catch on 2-7!

Down 7-0 at the end of 1 qrt. Defense has already given up over 100 yards of offense. We've got 27 yards on the offensive side of the ball ourselves. We've got to force some turnovers if we're gonna get in this game!

Hartline has come in ready to play!!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 02:25 PM:

We've played 20 minutes of football so far and haven't gotten the ball across midfield yet!
Come on CATS!!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 02:41 PM:

On the final ve possession of the first half we get it over midfield. Only four yards. The offense can't sustain a drive!

Sieber misses, YET another, FIELDGOAL! [Mad]

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:00 PM:

Seems the whole team is out of whack. I really cannot understand why this team can't generate more offense. The O-Line blocking for runs must be really bad or else the running backs are running with blinders on.

How to explaing Lones Sieber? One thought he would be better now that he is a Senior. He has cost this team several games over his career.

No excuse for the lousy job he's doing this year.

Posted by Bluecat (Member # 516) on 11-01-2008, 03:05 PM:

I thought Sieber was replaced by Tydlacka?,
also wasn't Cobb supposed to replace Hartline?,
this teams psyche is too delicate to shuffle key positions like that. I feared all week coming in to the game our mental conditioning would be very tough to motivate following last weeks embarassing debacle in Gainsville. MSU also ate that game tape up and gained a ton of emotional
"UMPF" coming into this game.

We will get the ball to start the half, we need to wake up out of our malaise and outplay State
in the second-half. A scoring drive to begin the third quarter would be a great place to start.

Hartline has thrown the ball downfield a few times in the half and maybe he will hit a couple like he did in the Arkansas game.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:10 PM:

I think Brooks only want Tydlacka to kick on the real long ones.

It's a shame we can't have a reliable FG kicker from 40 yds in. I think Sieber's confidence is really low and it's affecting him.

I have no confidence in him whatsoever now, and last year when he kept us in the LSU game, he was on top of his game.

Florida up 7-0 over GA. I think the Gators are going to win out, including the SEC championship game.

WE SCORE! Cobb runs the option and keeps it for the TD!

Bout time!

7-7

Cobb takes it in for the score!!

I lost my ESPN 360 feed right after teh Cobb score! UUGGHH!!

Defense holds..barely. Cats take over on their own 18.

Holding! We are backed up and need a few first downs.

Posted by catlogic15 (Member # 1227) on 11-01-2008, 03:36 PM:

Gee! 4th and 1. We fake! !st down Kentucky!!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:38 PM:

First down on fake punt. Good call when it works! We sure needed to do something to keep the defense on the sidelines.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:39 PM:

I would like to see Cobb run the option more wide.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:43 PM:

FL 14, GA 3 in 2nd qtr

I'm watching that game on TV and watching UK/MS on the internet. Some guy (Justin) is streaming the ESPN feed.

First down and 10 from the 19 and Cobb keeps the ball and runs it to the 3-yd line.

Knock it in, Cats!

Great drive by Cobb.

Pass to Grinter for the TD!

13-7 KY awaiting extra point try.

Cobb is maturing right br eyes. GIving the defense rest and driving down the field for the go ahead score! Nice drive!!

Finally. Synchronicity for the offense. Your game now defense!

I hope Geogia wins. I want the 8 o'clock game on ESPN so I can play golf early Saturday before heading to Lexington.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:51 PM:

Great kickoff coverage, too. This team needs an infusion of confidence. We have the big MO and need to keep it.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:52 PM:

Crap! We gave up another 3rd and long play to MS. Our 'D' has really given up too many of those this year.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:55 PM:

Should we be letting our QB returning punts?

Surely someone else has that capability.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 03:57 PM:

Smith fumbles and MS recovers on the KY 31-yd line. Just when we had taken control we give them a gift.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 03:58 PM:

Well we put the ball on teh ground! NOw it's time to see what our defense is really made of!

14-7 start of the 4th.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:01 PM:

Turnover leads to a State score. OUCH!!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:02 PM:

They blocked the extra point!!! YESSSSSSSSS!!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:03 PM:

Wow, KY blocks the extra point. This could be huge.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:08 PM:

Another turnover near midfield! Darn it!!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:12 PM:

We hold them on 3rd, force a punt, block it and get called for off-sides.

Now 4th and one and MS will probably go for it.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:14 PM:

Offensive lineman raised up on tha punt block! IT should have been illegal motion. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE CALL!!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:14 PM:

It's inexcusable to be off-sides on a punt when it's 3rd and six.

Geez

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:15 PM:

Replay shows right offensive tackle come up out of his stance!!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:16 PM:

bad time for the ref to miss a call

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:18 PM:

They're not only going to score and go ahead, they are killing the clock.

We need to hold them to a FG.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:21 PM:

They missed the FG!

For once, someone else's special teams are messing up.

Come on Cats, run out the clock!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:23 PM:

I am so sick of Hartline's 3-yd pass attempts to the sideline.

If not that, then a screen play. Why can't we pass the ball 10-yds up the field?

3 and out.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:32 PM:

Big defensive stop at midfield. NOw TAKE CARE OF THE BALL!

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:33 PM:

3rd and 5 and we run up the middle.

Playing not to lose again. Now it's up to the defense to hold them out of FG range.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:35 PM:

Hope the 'D' keeps the pressure on and doesn't go into a "prevent" defense.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:37 PM:

INTERCEPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This could-should be the ball game.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:40 PM:

Nice SEC win on the road! Is that our first SEC win of the year?

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:41 PM:

We got lucky with this WIN!!

But I'll take it!!

Posted by Trey Ball (Member # 332) on 11-01-2008, 04:42 PM:

Second. They beat Arkansas as well.

Posted by ALA_KAT2 (Member # 1559) on 11-01-2008, 04:47 PM:

Well, maybe the football gods were smiling on us today. We were damn lucky to win this one.

Turns out MS made more bad plays than we did. Them missing the 27-yd FG was very fortunate for us.

Hope Cobb is not hurt too badly. We sure looked better on offense with him in there.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 04:49 PM:

Didn't Cobb take a few snaps in that final offensive series?

Posted by boomdaddy (Member # 2644) on 11-01-2008, 05:07 PM:

I am happy for the players and the coaches and also us fans. They need at least 1 more to guarantee a bowl bid.

Posted by bayer (Member # 462) on 11-01-2008, 07:18 PM:

I was the one who said we would only win 4 games this year. I was wrong.

But, I do have a question. With this offense, how has this team won 6 games?

And don't get me wrong, I'm not dogging on Joker, we just don't have the experience at QB that you have to have to play in this league. But somehow we keep getting lucky against teams that are no better than we are.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 07:20 PM:

The defense has won a couple of those games for us Bayer.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-01-2008, 07:21 PM:

Louisville's offense didn't score a single point against us!
