Listenining to all the accolades today I heard media people say that if MVP Tebow comes back he could go down as the greatest college football player ever with another season like the last two.

I hope he comes back as he is good for the college game...

It's a credit to him, his team and the SEC. He is a very special college football player...

"Tebow is … just call him Superman," Florida receiver Percy Harvin said. "Tebow is just being Tebow. He's been a great leader for us all year. He's led us here; he deserved the credit."

Tebow was named the game's most outstanding player. He finished 18 of 30 for 231 yards passing and two touchdowns with two interceptions and 109 yards rushing. Harvin, too, was fantastic with 171 total yards and a score.

"I am just so proud of my teammates because they kept fighting for four quarters," Tebow said. As he accepted the MVP trophy, Gators fans chanted, "One more year!" encouraging their quarterback to return for his senior season.

"I have a big decision to make. But I love being here. It definitely won't be a bad thing if I come back, that's for sure," he said.

I like watching him ruun over defensive guys, the way I thought UK's big qb would have done had he run more.

But, just like any sports icon, the media is slobbering all over him. It is sickening the way the lay it on. I don't dislike Tebow, but the media makes me tired of hearing of him.

That is EXACTLY the way I feel about it!

You can dislike the slobbering all you want and you can question whether he will ever be a QB in the NFL, but you absolutely cannot question Tim Tebow's leadership of the Florida team. I think if he comes back he will go down as one of the greatest college football players of all time. I did not say one of the greatest QBs--just one of the greatest players

He's definitely a player anyone could build a team around.

He might discover cure to Cancer or Stroke, but I still don't have to like him. [Razz]

There's just something about him that make you think he should be playing on the Duke B-ball team!!

It was funny near the end of the game when the announcers were talking about Tebow never doing anything wrong and he then gets called for a personal foul. When they showed he got called for doing the 'Gator Chomp' to one of the Oklahoma players, I just about fell out of my chair. Who doesn't want someone like that on their team.

I guess Florida is lucky to have what would be the 4th best QB in the Big 12 (oh really - chomp).

Go SEC!

I'm not jealous. I just don't like his cocky attitude. HE reminds me of Christian Laetner!!

So there you go, that's why I don't like him.

I won't take away that he very well may be the best college player to ever walk on teh field, but I still don't have to like him. DO I?

mh, of course you don't have to like him but reading your posts and your Christian beliefs it just seems out of character.

Here is a article that explains what Christian ethics Tebow has and what he does during his summer free time..

It’s just phenomenal the respect this guy engenders from the Gator Nation, the student body of the University of Florida, coaches, teammates, fans, commentators and other observers of football, alike. On top of that he’s been the recipient of all sorts of awards and honors and accolades, including the prestigious Heisman Trophy Award. He’s considered one of the best players in in College football, period. But one particular comment during tonight’s game, caught my attention: when one of the game’s commentators remarked at how much missionary and humanitarian work Tebow has done in some of the poorest countries in the world, including Croatia, Thailand and the Phillipines, where Tebow was born.

But the thing that surprised me, was that the commentator was so amazed at all the humanitarian work Tebow had done so far yet he’s only 21. And here’s why I was surprised at the commentator’s awe: compared to other College-age Christians Tebow is not that exceptional. He is part of what I like to refer to as the ‘Missionary Generation’ that is sweeping America: This generation is made up of scores of talented and bright Christians who are are giving up opportunites to go to some of the most prestigious colleges, for the chance to go to unknown Christian Colleges all over America- and to be around other young people who share their passion for God.
