A pair of starters, senior offensive tackle Justin Jeffries and junior cornerback Paul Warford, could return to action during this week's game at Auburn, Coach Rich Brooks said following Thursday morning's practice.
"Warford made it through practice again,” Brooks said. “He's a little sore. His status will probably be determined in the pregame warm-up as far as if he can play, how much he can play. Jeffries has made it through again as well, so his status will be about the same up into the pregame."
Warford has missed the last two games because of a strained quadriceps muscle. Jeffries did not play at South Carolina last Saturday because of a strained Achilles tendon.
Brooks also said that the starting quarterback would not be announced until game time, but that Will Fidler and Morgan Newton are each likely to see playing time. Tailback Alfonso Smith, who played on special teams last week but did not carry the ball because of a sprained thumb, may get some rushing attempts vs. the Tigers.
Kentucky travels to Auburn on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. ET game which will be televised by ESPNU.
