Kentucky's offensive coaching staff has been recognized as one of this week's "Game Changing Coaches" by the Internet site FootballScoop.com for the coaches' performance in the Auburn game.
FootballScoop.com recognizes five offensive or defensive coaching staffs each week in college football and UK offensive staff of Larry Brinson, Jimmy Heggins, Matt McCutchan, Steve Ortmayer, Joker Phillips and Randy Sanders was among those selected.
Here's what was written on the site:
"It's never easy to win at Auburn on a Saturday night. What makes Kentucky's 21-14 win even more special...the Wildcats did it with 2 backup quarterbacks, played mistake-free football, and rallied from behind in the 4 th quarter to win. Credit the experienced Kentucky offensive staff including offensive coordinator Joker Phillips. The Wildcats rushed for 282 yards, finished with 0 turnovers and 0 penalties. There is great coaching involved right there. Derrick Locke rushed for 126 yards and Randall Cobb rushed for 109 in the win behind excellent play from Coach Jimmy Heggins' offensive line. Kentucky allowed just 1 sack and scored the final 14 points in the 4 th quarter to come from behind (12 play - 75 yard drive & 5 play - 68 yard drive). We wonder the last time a team won on a Saturday night in Auburn without a starting quarterback. Said head coach Rich Brooks, `I have had a lot of teams with no turnovers, but in conjunction with no penalties, that would narrow the list down. Forgive me for my old age and memory, I know there have been some but I don't know when or how many. Very few, probably.'"

And how about that defensive effort too!! The only mistake the Cats made in the whole game was the blocked FG.

Blue, i thought the exact same thing when i read the article. Not to down play the offense because it was great but the defense was awesome all day and has played good all season except for the first quarter against Florida.
