Defensive line coach David Turner has left Mississippi State for Kentucky, State athletic director Greg Byrne confirmed moments ago.

I assume that this guy can recruit? Has MSU's d-line been stocked with talent over his tenure there?
Maybe this is a play to get a foot in the door in Mississippi for recruiting?
Just trying to fit this piece into the puzzle...

Don't know about recruiting. I did hear that MSU had several 4 star D-Line players commit during his tenure, but almost all of those were from Mississippi.

Jeff Drummond spoke highly of Turner on WVLK last night, said he has already been at several SEC schools and is an ace recruiter as well as an excellent coach. Joker has known him for years and wanted him as part of his staff, the guy can flat out recruit highly rated players.

Also Kentucky now is the leader for Tim Patterson of Louisville over UL, but Patterson is rumored to lack the grades necessary to play as a freshman and may have to go prep school or juco.

Maybe he will recruit some biguns out of Mississippi, nothing wrong with that..Turner is going to be a good addition to the staff..
