Yes the first drive by WKU produced a 66 yard touchdown run. However we played solid defense the rest of the first half allowing only 47 yards in 5 possessions. You have admit that is solid defensive play. In the 3rd quarter they had the ball twice once when we stopped them and once where they had a touchdown drive. Let's face it in the 4th quarter we had a lot of subs in the game and they did move the ball against our 2nd teamers but that is not earth shattering and should improve in the future.
The Cats allowed only 3 of 10 3rd down conversions and had 6 tackles for losses which is solid defensive play. All in all our defensive play was not as bad as first thought although our special teams needs some work..
With all that said WKU is not a very good team and until we play some better teams we won't know how good or bad our defense really is. Hopefully it will be better than many UK fans think.

The biggest problem our defense has is the tendency to give up the big play. If we can quit having those mental lapses that all the quick hitting big play, we will be a lot better off.
