I guess if you can't say something good, then ........... Just a sad state of affairs with our team.

It just seems like so many of us Cat fans get so excited for the season to start with our hopes up so high to see the Cats improve and then when it doesn't happen it feels like someone cold cocks you when you you arn't looking...

It happens every year about this time. The start of SEC play for UK. The big wins over patsies, basically, give everyone an inflated sense of how good the team is. Reality check is Florida. Then we get down and discouraged and don't even play up to our previous standard and lose to a very beatable Ole Miss team. Psychologically, we're in a bad position right now. We should be able to win games against the mid and lower level SEC teams, but not the Florida's, Alabama's, and some of the other SEC powers. Normally Georgia and Tennessee are also powerful, but this year we could beat them, but we'll have to get back to believing that we can beat them first.
We desparately need a win over someone that we don't expect to beat. A signature win. Beating South Carolina would be nice. Spurrier is undefeated against us. And certainly, we need to make this the year that we end the losing streak against Tennessee.
But as long as we play in the SEC, I'm afraid that culture shock for the football team will hit in early October every year.

I tempered my enthusiasm when the Cats were beating up on Akron, WKU and L'ville, knowing darn well that the SEC schedule would be a true monitor in determining how good they could be this season.
After the last 2 weeks of watching an uninspired team fail to compete and make costly turnovers and get taken out of games, my thought is the Cats will be 0-5 heading to Miss. State. Thank God for Charleston Southern & Vandy in November.

We need Charleston southern, Vandy and GA to break even as I thought before the season began. The other 6 SEC games were 3 losers and 3 possible wins. Now I don't know if we can beat the 3 possible teams. If we win those other 3 games for a 6-6 we end up in the Independence Bowl. If not, it's back to the drawing board to see if we can find more 4 and 5 star athletes. Otherwise, same o same o.
