Bryant was Kentucky's claim to fame as a coach wih a 71% winning record in 8 seasons at Kentucky. How many years did he coach college football as a head coach before coming to Kentucky and what institution did he coach at before coming to Kentucky.

I don't know the number of years he coached before coming to KY, I believe he was a position coach at Vandy.

cawood the Man, he was hired as the offensive line coach at Vandy but his first college job he had was in 1936 at Union University in Jackson Tennessee. He was then offered a assistants job at Bama, where he stayed 4 years before going to Vandy. He then was offered the head coaching job at Arkansas after Vandy's 1941 season but before he took the job at Arkansas Pearl Harbor was bombed and he enlisted in the Navy for four years. When he got out of the Navy he was offered the head coaching job and took it at the College in my trivia question.

None other than Texas A&M? This is off the top of my head. For some reason Texas A&M just jumps out at me.

Only thing I remember about Bear Bryant was that he made his wife promise that she would have him buried next to Commonwealth Stadium. She said he made the comment that "when I die, I want to be buried as far from college football as possible."
