OK, I give up! Is there any way that ESPN can switch to covering another game? This is is an embarrasment, like robbing a 2 year old. I have gone to UK football games when my family had season tickets in the 1950s and have followed them ever since, but I am convinced that they will not ever be a competitive team in the SEC. I am conditioned that whenever they make a big play, to look for the flag. Or that there will always be a turnover at the most crucial moment. Dropped passes are the norm. They get pounded by the same teams every year. Not to have won vs Florida and Tennessee in a quarter of a century is beyond ridiculous.
I really don't see us winning any SEC games. So what will that be this year, 3-9?
I'm waiting for basketball season to start. I do admire the long suffering football fans, but about all they've got to look forward to is how good the food and drinks are at the tailgateing parties or in the luxury skyboxes.
What a shame. But really, with an exceptional seaon or two, it's been that way since the 1950s. [ 09-24-2011, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: Wildcat Bill ]

My sentiments exactly Bill. This team is an embarrassment to themselves, the University of Kentucky and those die hard fans who support them by going to the games week after week. I don't know football like I do basketball but it looks like the talent level isn't all that good and that the coaching is even worse.

I agree with both of you Ray and Bill - I too have been following the cats since the 50's and this team may be the worst I have ever seen. I did watch the entire game and was so embarrassed for the school and for the entire state of Ky plus the fans who pull for them.
On the one play when we fumbled in the 1st qtr I was screaming at the TV to please watch for the home run throw. When a fan like me knows what is coming and Fl still does it and we looked so BAD defending it makes one wonder just why did the coaching staff and the players have their heads up their behinds when everyone but them seemed to know what was coming.
It is one thing to be outplayed which we were but to be out coached and then on top of that to play "dumb" is just inexcusable.
O well I could rant forever but the bottom line is this may be the worst team we have ever had especially when the coaches were telling us how good we will be etc. Coach Brooks must be beside himself watching this type of dumb football.
P.S. Don't anyone tell me that I don't support UK in all sports because I do and it is apparent from the time frame that Ray and Bill have been following the cats that they do but there is a time when the University has to either make football a priority or just admit to everyone that UK football does NOT matter and this is what the product will always be!

Guys, I am subjected to watching this every week since I am a season ticket holder. I left the UL game with 11 minutes left in the game because I was so disgusted and yesterday was no different.
This team is NOT GOOD. They are taking drastic steps backwards. They will not win another game the rest of the season, even against J'ville State. J'ville State is ranked #12 in Division I-AA and will come into Lexington and take it to the Cats.
I am all for loyalty, however in this case, there was no reason to hire Joker as the next coach after Brooks left. The university should have gone outside the program and hired a coach. Joker is not the answer. The play calling is horrendous and Newton and the receivers are on different pages. The only solace to last night's game was the introduction of the basketball team during a timeout.

After the news about injuries after the game I'm not sure how many starters will even be able to play after we get LSU and SC. I thought when Masakowski transferred Newton was given preferential treatment that he didn't deserve. I guess Mas is having the last laugh now. Newton doesn't think fast enough to be playing in the SEC.
