Newton is possibly the worst QB I've ever seen. He can't make good decisions on the field and can't hit the broad side of a barn with his passes.
Why Joke(r) continues to play him is a mystery to me.

This may offend some, but Kentucky football just flat out sucks ..... top to bottom. This is painful to watch.

You won't offend anyone with that statement, Norm. I've watched Ky. football for over 55 years. This is the worst excuse for a football team Kentucky has ever put on the field.
Except for the Bear Bryant years they have never had nor will they ever have a consistent winning program. Ky. should disband the football program, dome over Commonwealth Staduim, and convert it to a basketball arena to top all basketball arenas.

In the first half, Newton was 3 for 15 for a total of 9 yards. He had almost completed as many passes to SC defenders as he had UK receivers, two to three. Pathetic. Bring on the round ball, I am ready for Hoops.

I keep looking around to see if Bill Curry is in the coaches booth with a headset on.
I didn't think UK would beat South Carolina, but they should not have given up more than 30 points let alone 50.
The offense is flat out...I don't have a word for the offense...to say they suck is understating it dramatically.
Defense is good enough to win, but not when they are on the field for nearly 90 plays.
If they lose to Jacksonville, I will not watch another game this season.

Well, in his defense, he almost doubled his output for the game: 17 yards passing.
Oh, he was our leading rusher as well -- 54 yards.
Our TOTAL offensive yardage for the game never reached double digits.
I am sorry, but this is pathetic. Go get the guys who won the intramural flag football championship and put them in as QB and WRs. At least they should be able to complete some passes...
The defense gave up over 600 yards, with South Carolina running a whopping 91 offensive plays. Oh, and Spurrier made sure that he rankled everyone wearing blue by going for (and getting) a TD with 8 seconds remaining. Man, I hate the ole' ball coach...

I didn't get to see the game, and figured that we would lose, but Spurrier always tries to run up the score. A TD with 8 seconds left?? Man, he is such a pr!ck!!!!

Tiptree, I live over here but just cannot make myself root for SC because of the Old Ball Coach. I think he has a ton of talent but that the game itself has almost passed him by. His clock management late in the Auburn game last week was incredibly bad and cost them any chance of winning that game. He benched his starting quarterback for today's game also, using only his once used second stringer the whole game. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound, that touchdown he scored showed absolutely no class. I had many people try to get me to go to the game with them today but I live in this state only, do not support their athletic programs.

Let's be a "little bit fair as Newton's passing stats were terribl"e but he wasn't throwing to open receivers and he had little to no time to pick out his targets and had 1 pass intercepted. We also had another quarterback that tried to complete some passes too as Maxwell Smith came in and threw 4 passes and 2 were incomplete and the other two were intercepted. Josh Clemons even threw one and that was intercepted.
I think it's fair to say that our line did not give any protection at all to any of our passers and did not open and holes for our tailbacks as Newton was our leading ground gainer by a sizeable margin. Granted this is not a very good team but to blame it all on Newton makes little sense.

Newton doesn't always get great protection, but when he does, he locks in on one receiver and tries to force the ball in even when the receiver is covered up. His pocket presence is not good, and his touch on short passes is awful.
I bet if Spurrier had him on his roster that Newton would be a better QB (if not he would not see the field).

I'm glad I had a Tee time scheduled during todays game. Every time I got a text score on my cell phone I would shake my head and reach for a club.

I have only one thing to say about Kentucky Football. Embarrassing!!! We are getting to be a Joke...We are the worst team in the SEC this year.

We wouldn't do too well in any other conference either.

I don't hate Spurrier. I was wanting UK to hire him, when he was looking for a new home.
As for the real problem with the football program, it is obvious they are caught without a QB tha can compete at the D1 level. UK's offense wasn't this bad when Joker was OC, but the real difference is who they have at head coach. If they keep this coach in place for another year, they had better go get them the top passing QB from the Juco ranks, who has a strong arm and gets rid of the ball quickly. I really like the QB prospect from Highlands out of Northern Kentucky, but you can't put all that weight on a true freshman.
I don't buy all that crap that this team is devoid of talent. Hell fire, they beat a few SEC teams last year, including South Carolina. This season, they can't complete a pass. Josh Clemons will be a star, but they have to have a passing game. I don't understand why they don't throw the ball to the TEs at least 5 imes a game, either.
If I were in charge, I would either bring in an ex pro coach, like John Gruden and let him build his staff or bring the whole staff from Boise State or TCU.
As it is, we all know that UK is most likely to keep the status quo for one more year. For the sake of the players, the fans, and the overall health of the program, I sure hope they go out and get them a Juco QB that is ready to play. Mistakes are made all the time. The highly ranked QBs they got in Newton and Mossakowski didn't pan out. Regardless of why Moss left, he is no longer on the team. Newton may need to be converted to a TE or some other position.
If JOker is still the head coach, next season, and starts out telling everybody how Newton is ready to put up big numbers, he will be looking at half filled stadiums for every home game. I fully expect some season ticket holders to boycot the rest of this season.

We have to face facts that we have no football team and it's only going to get worse. Shut down the support and see if the school notices it.

I agree, and don't think we would be that good in the sunbelt confrence this year.

Really, What's the point of us having a football team? The only games UK wins are against inferior talent. We are no different from Vandy. Why can't UK come up with $2 million and bring in a coach that can recruit. Morgan Newton is terrible! I see MAC QBs that are better. You would think UK being part of the SEC could at least bring in a QB that can throw the ball accurately. This crap is getting old! I really don't expect UK beating the LSUs/Alabama's etc. but damn, be competitive! We look like the "little sisters of the poor"! Enough of my rant!
