Desperate move by WKU. I can't believe they would lower themselves to hiring him. Very disappointing.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

I think it's a good hire for them. I'm a little shocked that he took that position. I'm not sure how much money they could offer a football coach.

Fred (a WKU grad) won't like it a bit.

I'd rather have a man of honor and lose any day of the week over a winning coach on the field with the morals of a snake. I'm with Trey all the way on this hire even though we are probably in the minority...

Agree. Some people will never understand that "How" you go about getting "Results" matters just as much, if not more than the actual results.
To me it matters. [ 12-11-2012, 12:30 PM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]

I believe in second chances and hope that Petrino has learned from his mistakes. I too think this was a great hire for WKU and hope he does well there. God knows I've done some dumb **** over the years. Just glad I wasn't under the size microscope that celebrities like Petrino are.

well said uncSucks,I couldn't agree with you more,i've made plenty of mistakes myself. Some of the people on here need to pull the nails out of their hands and come off of their crosses and give the man A second chance.

I'm all for giving a guy a second chance, but how many second chances do you give a guy before you realize you shouldn't give him another?
To me the biggest mistake he made was when he decided to leave the Atlanta Falcons with 5 so games to go because the Falcons were not playing well. Finish out your contract at least. That is my biggest hangup with the guy, not so much his personal stuff at Arkansas.
I'm also not looking at it on a personal level because it is not my place to judge, but more on an employer level. I just think it was a bad hire from an investment standpoint for WKU based on his employment history. [ 12-11-2012, 07:46 PM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]

I think it is a solid hire for WKU. UK will beat them, easily, now that they will have solid coaching and an offense that can put some numbers on the board.
I Knew I had misjudged Joker and his staff, after they got beat by WKU this past season. He got out coached by a team with less talent and way fewer resources.
Initially, I was a proponent of Petrino to UK, but Stoops is a home run hire and Petrino will always be looking for a new job.
But, Petrino will put WKU on the map, for at least a couple of years....until he leaves.
