How did he get to be a unanimous first round All-American selection? I would be surprised if he even gets to be a second round NFL draft selection. It makes no sense how some players ever make these lists made up by sports writers. I think it's nothing more than a popularity contest headed by sports writers who know very little about football. Te'o would not be a first team defensive player on the Bama team let alone a All-American player.
I looked up the Heisman trophy winners since it was started back in 1935 and it was scary how so very few of the winners were even close to being good professional players. It goes to show how informed most of these sports writers really are.

He looked awfully small compared to the Alabama players. Based on his performance last night, he has no business ever being in the NFL.
I see this being the same scenario as Ray Maualuga. As a Bengal fan (did I say that out loud?) I see first hand how terrible Maualuga is, and he was considered all-world at USC. I think even I could get by Maualuga in the open field. [ 01-08-2013, 10:31 AM: Message edited by: PaulCat ]

I did some research on him and it does look like he still will be a first round draft choice do to his good play through out the year. That is good for him and hope he goes on and has a good career but after his play last night in his biggest game of his life it does make you wonder.

Middle linebacker? Not at the next level, outside LB mayber, but if the "largeness" and speed of the Bama guys is any indication the next level is gonna be frustrating??
