Why we need him:

Before tonight, UK’s 2014 class only had two wide receivers in Thaddeus Snodgrass and Pitt transfer Demitrius Davis. Williams’s ranking may not raise your eyebrows; because of his slight stature, he’s very underrated. But, what Williams lacks in size, he makes up for with speed. With a 4.4 40, he’s fast enough to play in the slot, and has the skills in the open field to turn a one-yard screen pass into an eighty-yard touchdown. As Nick Roush pointed out last month, Williams excels at getting open in the red zone and has the footwork to shake off defenders. With those playmaking skills, he could see time as a return specialist as well.

The fact that TV is from Texas is also important. Kentucky already has connections in the area because both Neal Brown and Chad Scott coached at Texas Tech, and expanding the BBN’s presence there is a no-brainer. TV’s commitment boosts the Cats back up to third in Rivals’ Team Rankings, behind Tennessee and Texas.

Why he wanted us:

TV’s commitment to UK may have been one of the worst keep secrets since Mike Edwards finally pulled the trigger, and for good reason. He’s got a very good bond with Drew Barker, Thaddeus Snodgrass, and the rest of the current commitments after hanging out together in Lexington for the Saturday Night Primetime Camp back in June. He also played in The Opening with Barker, Snodgrass, and top target Braxton Berrios.

The Air Raid offense should appeal to any top wide receiver coming out of high school, but TV is especially a fan. He’s became familiar with Neal Brown’s system while he was at Texas Tech, and his high school played a similar spread style. Also in UK’s favor? They were the only SEC school to offer him.

He sure looked good in the video, what about the Qb throwing him all the balls he looked really good. Is it possible that he could be A future Wildcat?

This young man has a winning attitude. I recall another young man that came to Kentucky with a winning attitude. He ran back a kick off for the Packers for a touchdown on his first NFL play. UK needs more young men with winning attitudes.

UK landed a potential 5 star QB in this year class. Barker is one of the main reasons why UK class is doing so well and is recruiting the players.
