Like he says if he puts his heart and soul in it he has a good shot to start. However we have a couple other quarterbacks that might have something to say about that.

Kentucky officially starts preseason football practice on Monday. Obviously, the biggest question that needs to be answered for the Cats is who will be the starting quarterback.

At the end of spring practice, Patrick Towles talked about what winning the starting job would mean to him.

“Growing up, I’m from Kentucky. My parents went to Kentucky. My dream for my entire life was to be the starting quarterback at UK,” said Towles. “Going through high school, I started playing well and they offered me and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this could be real.’

“Then I kind of got complacent my freshman year. I’m not going to lie. I got complacent, and that wasn’t the case; I did not become the starting quarterback.

“I didn’t deserve the job. I didn’t deserve the job last year. But now I feel like I’m doing all right and I feel like I’ve got a pretty good shot at it.”

Chris Collingsworth said last year that Towels was the best QB in the nation not starting. I agree with him.
